MICROPHONE PROBLEMS

I have a USB microphone. My operating system is Windows 10.. My Adobe Audition is Version 1. It will not recognise my microphone and I have the same problem with Audacity.

Has anyone any ideas as to how to correct this please?

Go to the Windows Sound control panel and make sure that the mic is selected, and also that the sample rate and bit depth are the same as the ones Audition is set to use. You will need to look in the Properties box to do this, and you may also have to experiment with Exclusive mode. Also, you haven't said which USB mic it is. Some come with control panels, and that's the place that you would set them up.
