No Audio In regardless of source selected

2017 iMac

OS 10.14.1

Audition build 12.0.0.241

Audacity records fine. But flat Line in audition and no levels in meter.

Regardless of source (built in mic, usb interface). Input selected in Audition preferences.

Tried all sorts of things. Power cycle, etc.

Is OS 10.14.1 Mojave by any chance? If so you have to go into the Mac's Security preferences and allow Audition to use the Mic Input.

I tried that the issue is that the mac doesn't have audition as an option to allow the mic. He only app or program is Audactiy.

What do you do if mac does not recognize Auditon in privacy settings? Only Audacity.

Then you have to go into the Security settings and tell it to accept Audition. Not a Mac user but the link above should show you how.

    Ryclark,

If I were going to have children, I would name my firstborn after you. I have been having this issue and googling for hours to no avail. This was the problem. I was driving myself crazy. I've been podcasting for a while and all of a sudden I couldn't get audition to pick up the mic.

    Thanks!!!
