I recently updated to a new computer. I now find that I can't keep Bridge permanently on "organize manually". Every time I close and reopen it's reverted to "organize by file name". Isn't there a way to "lock it" on manual organization?
Others have also had this problem and Adobe has acknowledged its a bug.
As this post suggests, you can work around the problem by creating a custom workspace. You can base it on one of the default workspaces and just name it something else. Custom workspaces seem to retain the sort criteria.
