Hi, I wrote a little script to export the metadata to an xml file. I am having some problems where the tags contain accented characters (áéö etc.). I managed to write the xml file with unicode encoding and the unicode characters contained in the script are transferred correctly. However the special characters in the metadata tags are being transformed to some unreadable characters. Is there any way to make sure these characters are transferred correctly? Thank you Balint

This must be soo simple what am I doing wrong> I want to transfer the pics I have in a folder in bridge to our website. How do I do that. Help Please. When viewing the raw 14 bit files from the new Nikon D3 in Bridge we see broad black bands down two opposite sides of the thumbnails and the thumbnail will not expand to larger screen view when clicked on; they stay at thumbnail size in the larger preview window. Jpegs created at the same time have no such problem. Funny thing is that sometimes these raw files will not have the large black border bands when Bridge starts afresh but new files imported into Bridge have the problem. Older files that had the problem often are self corrected but no amount of idle time in Bridge seems to assure the correction process to work out or catch up. Very hit and miss, mostly miss. >>>Maybe not surprisingly, if an NEF file is opened in ACR and processed and closed it then works properly in Bridge afterwards.<<< A few technical notes: Bridge v2.1.1.9, ACR 4.3.1 and CS3 v10.0.1 Images are imported through Nikon Camera Control Pro 2, v2.0.0 or Nikon Transfer v1.0 or car

I am looking for a way to extract all the information in the File Properties to a .csv. I have downloaded the Export Metadata script and it, works except I cannot include the File Properties in the Schema field. I hope there is a way to modify this script to include the File Properties. Eric
Adobe Media Gallery only allows ten images per page. Any way around this? Otherwise, its a great script.
I need to have a script that I can drop/open a folder, and all images get a thumbnail made including the subfolders in it, which could be several levels deep. I'm a good Applescripter but don't know javascript, so help is really appreciated. email to chris.paveglio -at- clippermagazine.com for questions or to send a file. Thanks, Chris

I am Spanish and I use Adobe Bridge to add keywords in English to my pictures, but it would be much easier if the panel Bridge where he managed could be added next to the keyword in its English translation into Spanish but at the Mark only be added in English. Is there a plug for this? Could Adobe Extended Script Toolkit create a script for this? Does anyone know do?
Hi, I have a good script I've written that I always used to run from Photoshop. The script has a dialog box which asks where to get the files from. Is it possible to select files in bridge and run the script from there? Without rewriting it for Bridge? Thanks, Stan
I´ve got AppleScript which is controlling Extensis Portfolio 8 and InDesign CS2. I´d like to call Bridge and change the color of the label of active document . Does anyone know any method to do this? Portfolio does not support JS and it seems to me also that Bridge doesn´t support AS, either.
I've just installed Photoshop CS2, however upon opening Adobe Bridge this error message appears " The application has failed to start because libagluc28.dll was not found. Reinstalling to application may fix the problem" I have reinstalled and click repair but to no avail I followed Adobe Support Knowledgebase solution and run CMD and this appears: c:Documents and Settings/Jesus M Ferraris> then i entered the command cacls c:\windows\installer /T /E /C /G administrators:F but an error message appears - 'cacls' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or bathc file I also entered the next command cacls "c:\documents and setting\all users" /Y /E /C /G administrators:F still the same error as above appears, Please help, have I miss something or was my procedure correct... Does anybody know of anyway of determining the bit depth of an image from it's XMP? I know that raw files has a BitsPerSample property which I can deal with. My problem is more with PSD files. I can't figure any way of determining whether it's an 8 bit or 16 bit image strictly from the XMP data. Anyone have any ideas? -X
Im having trouble making the InDesign contact sheets script work from Bridge. I choose my images in Bridge (not raw files) I select Tools > InDesign > contact sheet I get all the options for rows and columns and page size and so forth, which I set up and hit ok. Then I get a window saying Generating Contact Sheet, starting and the beach ball spins and spins. Eventually it gives up and Im still in Bridge with no contact sheet, InDesign is open at the time. Have tried restarting apps and computer with no change. G4 PB 1000Ghz / 1.25ram / OSX 10.4.2 / CS2 Premium / Bridge 1.0.2 Thanks,
I have Bridge and InDesign CS3 versions. I have successfully created contact sheets with Bridge CS2 using the "Create InDesign Contact Sheet" tool, but the option does not even appear in the Tools menu in Bridge CS3. Adobe Help Center says it should be there. What gives? Steve
Please could someone tell me what I am missing/what to do next to get this sort working? var dsc = app.defaultSortCriteria; var sc1 = new SortCriterion("sortByCity", "string","http://iptc.org/std/Iptc4xmpCore/1.0/xmlns/", "Iptc4xmpCore:CreatorContactInfo/Iptc4xmpCore:CiAdrCity","City"); dsc.push(sc1); try{ var sortHandler = new ExtensionHandler("sortHandler"); }catch(e){$.writeln(" New Extension Handler " +e.message);} try{ app.registerExtension(sortHandler); }catch(e){$.writeln("Registering Handler " +e.message);} app.registerPrefix( "bridge:sorts:", sortHandler); try{ var customInfoset = new Infoset("customInfoset", dsc); }catch(e){$.writeln("New Infoset " + e.message);} try{ app.registerInfoset(sortHandler, customInfoset); }catch(e){$.writeln("Register Infoset " + e.message);} var mySortObj = {}; mySortObj.name = "sortByCity"; mySortObj.type= "string"; mySortObj.reverse = false; var mySortsArray = []; mySortsArray.push(mySortObj); try{ app.document.sorts
Dear all, I'm using the great InDesign Contact Sheet function in Bridge and InDesign CS3 a lot. But now after updating to the Adobe Design Premium Suite CS4 this function doesn't appear in Bridge CS4 anymore! Under Bridge Menu Tools it is not available. Hope anyone can help! Thank you, Holger
Hello to all, I am developing a plugin for Adobe Bridge CS3, to better edit metadata. In a field, I have a listbox with options to populate the metadata's values to an image file. The problem is this: I want this listbox's size to be equal to one line of text. In windows it works as it should, but when I try it in Mac, I just can't make the listbox be smaller than 3 lines. I've tried all possible ways, do you guys think it is some kind of limitation or bug to the Mac version? Thanks!
Here's a nasty little bug. var f = new File(Folder.desktop + '/test.psd'); var xf = new XMPFile(f.absoluteURI, XMPConst.UNKNOWN, XMPConst.OPEN_FOR_UPDATE); This fails with a 'OpenFile returned false' message. The XMPFile constructor does not take a File object as a first arg. Why? What reason would it not take a proper File object like the rest of the JS APIs do? And, apparently, code beneath the XMPFile constructor doesn't understand what '~' means. And there is no File/Folder API for determining what '~' is or completing resolving the path. The absoluteURI property will _always_ substitute '~' for the home directory if it's possible. So, it's not really absolute. This could be classified as a bug, too. The result is that I have to now manually check for a "~/" at the beginning of every string that I pass to the XMPFile constructor and use $.getenv('HOME') to determine what '~' is. Or am I doing something wrong? This fails identically in Bridge and PS CS4. -X
I've found what looks like a massive bug in the ExtendScript SDK/API for Bridge but I cannot find anyone else complaining about it and I find it hard to believe I could possibly be the only person to have noticed. Bridge CS3 v2.1.1.9, ExtendScript Toolkit v2.0.2.77 In Bridge right-click on a JPEG image, do file-info and enter in a title and description for the image ensuring you use accented or extended characters (French, German, Japanese, whatever). Now this should work because XMP uses unicode/UTF-8. Save your changes. Re-opening the file-info window shows the correct data, as does the right-hand metadata palette etc. Now from the ExtendScript Toolkit, execute the sample code SnpInspectMetadata.jsx which comes as part of the Adobe Bridge CS3 SDK. Observe the characters displayed in the JavaScript console within the ExtendScript toolkit are garbled. For example, enter title: ロンドン Displayed in console: ãƒãƒ³ãƒ‰ãƒ³ I have done further tests and as far as
I have a script, that does some batch thumbnail conversion from bridge, but uses the commandline interface of ImageMagik instead of photoshop. I tried the way via app.system(cmd) with each single thumb and writing a .bat-file with all the thumbs and execute it finally with f.execute() My problem is, that after about 10 images bridge throws the error "Timeout while waiting for the engine". What exactly does bridge want to tell me with this? Do bridge-scripts have a certain leap-time or is there a kind of sandbox for looping scripts that run quite long? I have included some $.sleep(100) but it didn't improve. I'm running on winxp, but have only 500 MB ram, could this be the problem? Thanx for any help + regards from germany, Markus Selbach
I can't change the fileUrl for a thumbnail. Everytime I set the value to something else. It just changes back. Does anyone know how to do this? Is there a setter I don't know about? I get the thumbnail like this: var myThumb = app.document.getSelection()[0]; then change it like this: myThumb.core.immediate.fileURL = "c:\\Test" it returns this: "c:\Test" but after opening the thumbnail and going back up a directory, it changes back to the original. :(
Hi I've just come accross a problem when creating a contact sheet with images that were organised and rotated using Bridge. When creating contact sheets I like to have the thumbnails rotated the correct way up. So I deselect 'rotate for best fit' but after the process is finished I realise that the sheet has been created with the thumbnails in landscape view regardless of the images that are portrait. I've also tried selecting the 'rotate for best fit' but the same thing happens. Can anyone help me?
I'm using Bridge and InDesign CS3. I just discovered the powerful tool of creating the contact sheets with Bridge. I was wondering if I could edit/customize the script that creates this function. I do not want a 1 pt border around my images or caption boxes. Does it use a JSX file and if so which one? I'm on a mac.
I am testing photshop in vista but bridge wont open any ideas
