‌i am interested in upgrading to Captivate 9 but don't want to lose my ability to work in my purchased captivate 8 package also.  I don't have a 2nd pc- so if I upgraded to Captivate 9  can I still access and use my captivate 8 package on the same pc.

    Hi Deb,

In case you have a subscription for Adobe Captivate 8, then you may upgrade and install Captivate 9 and activate it using your Adobe ID. You may continue to have Captivate 8 and Captivate 9 on the same machine, however, you may use only one of them a time i.e. both should not be used simultaneously in case activated using your current subscription.

In case you have a perpetual license of Adobe Captivate 8 and wish to purchase an upgrade to Captivate 9, in that case as well, you may install both on the same machine.

    Hope this answers you question.

    Regards,

    Sharad

    Sharad,

Your explanation doesn't fit with what I'm seeing on my PC.

I bought a subscription for Captivate 8 last year and installed Captivate 9 when it came out last month.  I can have both Captivate 9 AND Captivate 8 open at the same time and work on CPTX projects in both.

How does what I'm seeing harmonize with what you're saying?

    ‌Rod,

What I mentioned in my last response is correct as per the End user licensing agreement.

Under a Single user Captivate subscription, you may continue to have both Captivate 8 and Captivate 9 installed on the same machine, however, you may use only one of them at a time to ensure compliance with the EULA.
