How can I create keyboard shortcut interactions in my project using Captivate 12?

Shortcuts using accesibility features.

From the user guide, "Learners can use standard keyboard shortcuts such as Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, and arrow keys to navigate, interact with content, and control playback during course consumption."

New Captivate can not create non-responsive projects. Shortcut keys only have sense in such a project, not in a responsive project because phones nor tablets have shortcut keys. Using a virtual keyboard is not the same.

Thanks for the quick reply. There is some logic to what you say. But certainly code could be written that applies keyboard shortcuts only to PCs. Plus, in my Captivate 12 project, there are some inbuilt states that instruct the viewer to "click anywhere or press 'y' to continue." Pressing "y" on the keyboard does, in fact, advance the viewer to the next slide. See attachment.

All I would like to do is give viewers the option of pressing a key on their keyboard to advance to the next slide. They are complaining about having to click a couple of hundred times to get through the content. For what it's worth, I would consider this a must-have feature. E-learning is used in business environments by users with desktops and laptops. Simply inform users in the User Guide that the functionality may not work with non-standard keyboards.

Sorry to persist with this, but I'm faced with having to recreate from scratch my large project in a different application (whether it's Captivate Classic or something else).

All my clients are business clients. None of them except one want a responsive project. One of the reasons is mentioned by yoy. priority is still on desktop/laptop, bu the many limitations you have to cope with in a responsive prject as well. At this moment, until the new version grows up, we keep to version 11?5.

Feel free to launch feature requests. But please do not quakify people using a non-US jeyboard as beibg non-standard. The majority of the world peoplr use another keyboard than yours.
