Does a course have to end with Quiz Results to pass score to LMS?

Using Adobe Captivate 2019 11.8.0.586 and created a quiz. If I exit the course on the Quiz Results page, score is passed to LMS.

However, I have an advanced action that makes a button available for those who passed to take them to another slide - if users pass they have to sign an attestation that they will abide by the training. There is a text entry box on the new slide where users type yes. When that is in place, Captivate is not sending the score to the LMS. Success and Completion are in place, but score is 0.

I have checked the panel and the only interactions sending a score are my quiz questions. I think my Quiz settings are okay since I do see the score, just not when I end the course the way I want to...

Any thoughts?

Thanks @RodWard I realized the restrictions with Captivate vs. LMS as I worked though what I did with @Lilybiri 's help. I like the suggestion of 2 attempts using Captivate and then 2 attempts in the LMS. I assume I have to turn off the bookmarking in Captivate to get back to start of course in LMS. So far in my attempts to configure, I go back to my exit page (page after quiz results) when I retake the course from the LMS.


Yes, unless your course module is very long, the easiest solution is just to turn off the Resume Data bookmarking so that the LMS does not send you back to the slide at the very end of the module.  (Also check your TOC settings to make sure that you do not have Self-paced Learning checked because that also is a type of bookmarking that can get users sent to the last slide they were on.)

You are not on the most recent version, please update to 11.8.1.

No, it is not necessary to have the Results slide as last slide nor to leave on that slide. It is even recommended to have at least one slide after the results slide. Even if it is hidden you still need to go at least once beyond that Results slide. Have a look at this blog post:

My question is: where is that button, and can I see the Advanced action in a screenshot (please use the Preview of the action). 

I suppose you checked Advanced Interaction to see if the Total score is correct.

Can I also see the Reporting and the Settings under Quiz Preferences?

Thank you - will look at the blog. Unfortuanately I'm not a sys admin on my machine and have been waiting 3 weeks so far to have Captivate upgraded. Expecting a few more weeks of a wait 😞

I am attempting to rebuild in a new blank course - think I am getting closer to making it work, but still struggling with the quiz results (seeing them reporting correctly in ScormCloud now but status still is not correct). Users have 3 chances to pass quiz. A pass gets them to an attestation button. 1 fail they get to retake quiz (retake button is there), 2 fails they have to retake course (jump to slide 1), 3 fails they get a you failed button.

I want to show status - incomplete/complete (so I know if user exhausted all 3 attempts) and then the quiz score. Scorm Cloud just crashed on me - so not sure if this last iteration worked.

and it looks like I had the luck of the Irish (St. Paddy's Day) or more likely having @Lilybiri looking at my work. The issue this time was an error 40 - 40 cm from screen. Believe I solved my issue. Thanks @Lilybiri and hope I didn't take up too much of your time. I appreciate all you give to this community and helping rookies like me 🙂
