I need some input about I project I am working on. I have a slide with 7 buttons, I'll break down how they function and the problem I have run into: Button 1 - Hides/Shows content - when it is clicked it changes to a custom state indicating that a task is complete. (retain state is on)This is the normal state of Button 1this is the custom (completed) state Buttons 2, 3 and 4 - Hides/Shows content and change from the normal to the visited state until another button triggers a change to the custom (completed) state. (retain state is on) Button 5 - changes the state of button 2 to the custom (completed) state. (retain state is on)Button 6 - changes the state of button 3 to the custom (completed) state. (retain state is on)Button 7 - changes the state of button 4 to the custom (completed) state. (retain state is on) Example: Button 3 in the visited state Button 6 (the toggle) changes Button 3 to the next state (custom state). Button 6

Hi there,I am currently running the Captivate 2019 release. Version 11.5.0.476. Only had it for a week in work and have beenusing it every day. Today, I am unable to preview my responsive project. I normally go Preview - Project, or Preview - From this slide and I must have done it about 100 times in the last week without fail. Slides are generated and then it opens on Edge. Today, I load up my existing responsive project and after the slides are generated I receive an error message: Windows cannot find 'HTML5Temp185646897406Pre/rindex.html'. Make sure you have typed the name correctly, and then try again.  Odd as I am simply previewing. The only thing i did this morning was use the hyperlink option within a text caption to link to an external website. I since removed the link and have the same result.  Publishing works fine, when I upload to our LMS, but inconvenient as a way of previewing as I design. Any ideas on how to fix?   

Hello,  I have set up a video in a slide which plays automatically and then we move to next slide when the video has finished. My issue is that when the video has stopped playing, the video jumps back to the first frame. This creates a moment of ugliness. I would like to acheive a nice flow to the next slide straight after the video. I have tried to play around with the length of the slide to match the length of the video but this doesn't really change much. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.  Many thanks. 

I am creating a quiz for the first time in Captivate. I am able to play around with all the setting except I don't understand how to report the coreect answer in a multiple choice quiz? It's a very simple thing I guess, but since it's my first time I am unable to figure how to do it. I figured! Thanks very much!

Captivate 9, responsive project, hosted in Moodle LMS.I have smart shape buttons in my project's question slides which are hidden until a learner answers correctly, at which point they are shown. When a learner exits a lesson and returns later, the answers they provided are retained, but the button states are not. I assume I need to be reporting the button state as a quiz interaction to my LMS in order for it to be preserved. Is this the case? How can I do that? How else might I retain the buttons' states across multiple sessions? I could tie their visibility to a function that shows them if the answer associated w/ the question ID is not an empty string, but I'm also not sure how to query cached answers. Any help is much appreciated! Thank you.

We are currently using Adobe Captivate 9 and publish a lot of our training to PDF for offline viewing. How is the end of Flash going to affect these types of files? I know that browsers are going to stop supporting Flash but is Adobe going to stop providing their Flash Player? Is this going away too? For example, in one of out projects I have used text animation, which according to Captivate's "HTML5 Tracker," is not HTML5 compatible, but right now it plays fine when I view in the published PDF. Will this just not work eventually when the PDF is played? Thanks. 

Hello, I create videos in Camtasia and they look fine. When I upload it as in interactive video to Adobe Captivate, they are always blurry. My videos have a lot of text in them, but you practically cant make out what the text says. Is there any advice on how I can get this to look better? Thank you. The video size is 1080 x 720

With the update to Captivate 2019 released this last year, we can now use an image as a button and set up states for that image button. However, when trying to set up advanced actions for clicking image buttons to reveal text on the slide, Captivate does not appear to allow us to change the state of the image when I set up a conditional statement with a variable to show the image in the visited state once it has been clicked on the slide. Has anyone else run into this and found a solution? I'm disappointed if we can now use images as buttons but cannot change their state within an advanced action.

Hello Everyone,My apologies if this is not the correct forum for this question.  Can someone direct me to the explanation of Virtual Operating Systems and the Licenseing agreement for this product: Adobe Technical Communication Suite 2019 (Windows,EN).    Scenario:  I have VmWare Workstation or VBOX as opetions to run my Windows VM Image.  What I am trying to do is install this product onto a VM so I can move my Adobe product around from my laptop to my desktop and so on, and not worry about violating licenses.  I paid for this product and I dont want to violate licensing agreements.  So, in theory, I have the ability to install the WIndows version I bought, onto a Windows 10 VM, and then move the VM around to different machines in my home. Thereby eliminating a dobule installation, that is a primary and secondary copy on two different machines.  I can just move my Vm from machine to machine instead.Thank you for your patience. Sincerel

I would like to create a conditional action that would change a button to a new/custom state. I've tried some simple advanced actions, for example, when I enter a slide, a button will change states, but I have had no success using a conditional action. This leads me to the following question: If a button has the literal value of 0 or 1 (on or off) does that mean it only applies to Normal (0) and Visited (1) states? And if a specific state has a value of 0 or 1, how do I create a variable to recognize that? If I have a button on Slide B that is in a visited state, how can I get another button on Slide A to recognize the Slide B button's visited state as a trigger to change the Slide A button to the custom state that I want? I'm probably overthinking this and the answer is most likely staring me in the face, but any help would be appreciated 🙂

Created a micro learning project (HTML5). I need it to run within a div on a webpage. Right now, I am loading the project into the div via JQuery .load command. However, the div is blank on the page and it displays full width. The project is small (300x400). Any way to do this?

Hi, I am using Captivate 2019 on a PC to create a lesson.  When I save and preview the lesson OR publish the lesson OR publish the lesson and upload it to an LMS, the first screen I get is grey with a click to play button.  I have also used multiple browsers.  This screen is not in my slides.  Can anyone tell me where I can change this preference?  Thank you!

I have three videos that I am trying to run in a single slide. I have tried multiple versions of advanced actions, but they all still start at the same time when not hidden. Ideas?

My default caption font is displaying at a larger size when I run my project in my LMS (Schoology) on my Mac.  It looks fine in preview in Captivate, it also looks fine in the LMS on a Chrombook or iPad.  The font is trebuchet, and all my master slide headings in the same font and font size display fine.  It is just the text caption.

I have a motion path applied to a shape in a fluid box (which is set to static).  The project is teaching kids how to read a foreign language (Hebrew with a different alphabet).  My goal with the motion path is to create a pointer that shows the student to read from right to left.  Everything looks fine when I preview it.  However, when I publish the project and view it in my LMS (Schoology) the motion path is either in a different place or does not stop at the point defined by the project.  To complicate matters, if I view the project through the LMS mobile app on an iPad it is actually fine.  So if I adjust the path in Captivate to accommodate the desktop browser, then it will be off on the iPad and vice versa.  Right now I have it set in between so that it is just a little off on both.

Hi, I recently downloaded the trial version of Captivate after seeing that you can make responsive courses with it, but I can't seem to get what I want with it. I want the followers of the course I make to see specific designs depending on what resolution their device is on. I uploaded two pictures with what I'm trying to get and what I'm currently getting in Captivate. I am trying to publish an Adobe Captivate course in HTML for use in either Internet Explorer OR Chrome. Our programmers can put a link on our homepage to the Index.html file and it will launch in IE without any issue.  But when we try to launch it in Chrome, we see a spinning circle and that is it.  The course never gets to the "play" screen so that it can start. Can this be fixed? If additional information is needed to help resolve, please let me know.  I can get the information from our programmers. Thank you!!Tom 

I put up 20 videos made with Captivate on our webserver.  Now 16 out of 20 open and show the following icon.   

My old iMac died. I had to purchase a new Mac that runs macOS Catalina. Can someone supply me with a link to dowload the latest edition of Adobe Captivate? I have yet to find it. Thanks

Hello all, I have been working on captivate responsive project and using the custom font family. Can I add/Embed these fonts in captivate so they can be viewed on any machine without installing fonts on the system? I follow the below mentioned steps to embed custom web fonts but still it’s not working for me. I have a responsive project using fluid boxes in Captivate 2017Text within a fluid box that contains a hyperlink is formatted as a hyperlink (blue, underlined) but is not clickable in the output.A button with the same URL correctly opens the page in a new tab.Kevin

HiI am trying to upload my zipfile to our LMS. Gets the imsmanifest error.I have read trough the forum and checked my reporting settings. The imsmanifest file are located in the rootfolder. See attached images.I do not would like to use reporting since I am using xAPI for the reporting but since I got the error I thought I needed to use reporting. I do not have any element in the project that reports so I guess that could be the problem. Any work around for this?Thnx

Youtube videos play in captivate but only play 1 second in LMS.  How do I correct this?
