Hello,I'm new to adobe products, please help if you can!Question AWe are looking to build a training program for medical students that can be widely disseminated. We would like to capture the responses of these students and also have data on the number of students completing the program, for research purposes. Can we accomplish this without hosting the program on an LMS? Can we host the contents created in adobe captivate on a website? What is the most cost-effective solution to disseminating a training program created in adobe captivate that can report data on the number of students completing the program and their responses to the survey questions?Question BDoes captivate have email trigger capability? Is it possible to email results of the program (e.g., question stem and the answer chosen) to participants? I would like to have a text box that says: "Enter your email here" and then have captivate automatically send an email of their results to them.Regards,Calvin Do

I have a student trying to import PowerPoint into Captivate and it's throwing this errorShe updates Java and then Captivate gets stuck on thisThere are several external links in her PowerPoint presentation and I'm wondering if links are even something that can be used in a Captivate project. I can't seem to find an answer to that. She had a video in the PowerPoint presentation and I wondered if that was the issue as well.Does anyone know?Thanks!

Hi all,I am trying to figure out how to pipe text in adobe captivate. I would like to be able to take a response to particular question and have that response display in another question. For example, Question A might ask something like "What is your favorite color?" I want to then be able to have another question display something the response to that question. So something like "You said your favorite color was ________." I want the response to be filled in where the blank is. I hope my question is not too confusing. Essentially, I am trying to re-create a survey function (text piping) from a software program called Qualtrics, where a text response from one question can be displayed in another question. I just installed this for a trial use.  First, the UI for this product is in a micro-font, I cannot read a thing.  Second, whenever I click "Insert Video" it tells me I need to install flash.  The link it sends me to tells me Flash is already installed.  I'm uninstalling the product immediately.  This really gives a new user a terrible impression of a poorly developed product.It feels like Presenter isn't even in the same class as Creative Cloud.  I own creative cloud, and with this terrible first impression of Presenter, I'm not going to pay addition money for this.  PICTURE ONE:  I can't read a thing.  This software does not respect my UI scaling that I set in Windows on my 4k resolution.  Creative cloud does.PICTURE TWO:   The first thing I tried to do was insert a video, and i get this.   It really leaves a bad impression when a brand new user tries a basic function only to have it fail.  I just dont feel li

I have a custom toggle using cpCmndCC that has alt text on it. The button is announced. But the 508 folks are saying I also need to announce whether the captions are on or off. Does anyone know how to do this, or even if it's possible?

Help!I have created a quiz, with the correct setting to record answers, but not all of the learner responses are showing.It only shows a return of 'type_the_answer_here'.What might I be doing wrong?Please advise.Many thanks in advance.

On html5 modules published with Captivate, the alert "topWindowBeforeUnloadHandler indefined " appears on the console when quitting.While the error doesn't seem to affect users on Cornerstone, those on Inquisiq receive the following alert and the results are not sent to the LMS."AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED MANAGING YOUR LESSON DATA.If you continue, your activity may no longer be saved. It is recommended that you CLOSE THIS LESSON and relaunch it."It seems to happen mostly with users on Firefox and Microsoft Edge. Is that a known issue?

Hi Folks,When I convert a cptx file to executable mac file, the backgrounds are not visible. However I can see some animation and background voice. Any suggestions are welcome.

I am unable to launch Captivate without the admin privileges. We have a strict locked down policy around the workstations and cant grant a local admin to the logged in domain user.Any ideas around this ? THanks

Hello,Prelude: My project needs a Pause/Play button and a Rewind button. I am creating a project in Captivate 2017 where each slide needs to play to the end of the slide before the on screen buttons are enabled on the user's first visit. On the second visit, everything needs to be enabled at the beginning of the slide. I tried using Conditional statements where on the first pass, everything is Disabled in the On Enter Advanced Action, then after a Delay Next Action By action everything is enabled. Because my project has a Pause/Play, the inability to control the Delay Next Action By action with a Pause command means that I am now trying to use JavaScript timers with my On Enter Advanced Action that will enable the interactions when the timers run out.With my Replay button, I am able to go back to the beginning of the slide with an Advanced Action like this:But this only brings me to the first frame of the slide and does not trigger the slide's On Enter Advanced Action again, meaning th

I tried searching for this already to no avail, but here goes:I have a video(added from computer) in my project and I want to add two knowledge checks.  I've added the KC slides and linked them via the overlay slide option in the videos slide.Here's the problem, when I preview or compile and upload to my LMS the first KC loads when its supposed to but after I answer it I'm taken to the next KC (should be about 2 minutes apart). Further, when I answer the second KC it takes me to my final quiz, circumventing the rest of the video on the slides.What I've tried:A new project with the same videoA new project with a different videoBookmarks just after each KC and quiz actions to jump to bookmark when correctPlease help!

I've got a captivate project in which I include a lot of .oam interactions that I built in Adobe Animate (I needed a lot of custom interaction and creating these as HTML5 documents in Animate seemed easier than trying to navigate through Captivate's advanced actions to see if it could even do what I needed it to). I have a couple of .gif files in my captivate project as well, but haven't put in too many of these as they seem to really bog the project down. When testing my project, the .oam files load very slowly. It takes a couple of seconds on each slide for the .oam file to show up when testing on desktop and it takes even longer when testing on a mobile device. My captivate project is responsive with breakpoints and I publish it out as an HTML file (it needs to run on mobile devices).I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on how to increase playback performance of my captivate project / decrease the load time for each .oam file? Is there a better way to integrate the .oam files into m

I have interactive video with bookmarks, I have a menu slide linked to my bookmarks now I want to avoid my users jumping forward from my menu option. I need my users to be able to jump to previous slides only.

If I want to install the voices or perform an update, I get options displayed, but no buttons to continue the installation. Here is an example:How can I continue the installation?Thank you

We have a customer that wants a Pretest and if the student passes it they get full credit for the training.  If they don't then they take the lesson.  However, he wants the same questions in the pretest as in the final quiz.  The previous version branched the student to the final quiz when the selected the Pretest button and if they passed it sent them out of the lesson and if it didn't the project jumped back to a slide at the beginning.  This time on the final quiz the customer wants them sent back if they miss a question to the section they messed up on.  So I don't see how we can use the final quiz and the pretest with the same slides for questions.  Is there a way to add a counter to the Random question slide so if its the first time through they just get to answer the question.  Then if the fail the pretest and take the training and come back to the final quiz and miss a question they are sent back to that section?Thank you,Susan Davis

The system is a WIN 10 system using Captivate 9.  When we try to load the video as an event video we keep getting error messages.  When we try taking it to media encoder we get error messages, so we can't change the codec to H264.  This video plays fine in the Microsoft media player and in the properties shows MP4 for the format.  I saw on another question with a similar problem that to test that it is the correct MP4 format was to drag it into a browser window.  I tried that and the only thing that happened was that Microsoft Media Player opened and it played there not in the browser window.Any and all help will be appreciated.Susan

I am having problems opening a published project in chromewhen I open a HTML file, chrome starts downloading the file but not playing the content.when I select open file, the result is a blank browser page.I tried publishing in HTML% as well as Shockwave.IE works fine.any suggestions

Hello all,Does Captivate specify what size pop-up window is used for SCORM packages?I know Captivate has the "Project Size" option.In this instance, the Project size is larger than the pop-up window in which it appears.Does this change in Captivate?Does this change on the LMS?

Hello.I created a video demo. I replayed the video demo file, realized I had missed some content and realized I needed to add it at a point in the middle of the cpvc file. I cannot find a way to put the cursor in the timeline and add new content. That is correct, right? There's no way to do that.Therefore, it seems I need to:Split the cpvc file into two at the point where I need to add new content. Publish each half to .mp4.Record my new content in a third cpvc file and publish it to mp4.USE WINDOWS "PHOTO" application to combine the three mp4s into one complete mp4.If there is a way to accomplish this simple task within Adobe Captivate, please tell me. I opened the Adobe Captivate Help and searched for "interpolate content into a video demo file" and got a grab bag of useless discussions. Thanks.--Nancy

I have a question that asks the learner to list several key points. I'd like to have 8 text boxes for them to insert 1 key point in each, but only 1 submit button. Hiya,I have inherited an e-learning module created with Captivate and have only used Storyline before. I need to make some changes to the module and I have managed to figure out the basics but two of the slides have got what I'm assuming are HTML5 animations on them. I have never worked with these before so if I sound like I really don't know what I'm talking about it is because I don't! I can see the content when in the 'build mode' and hide/unhide them from the time line, I can see the 'Web' item in the time line and its in the library too. However when I preview the project or publish it they disappear and there is a blank slide instead. I'm assuming they were created with Animate CC and imported to Captivate but I do not have the original files just the ones imported in to the project.I might be missing something totally simple here but wondered if anyone could help?Best Wishes,Jonna

I am making progress with the help of the forum. Now however the screen reader will not read the alt text for the images. I put the alt text in the Properties Accessibility  drop-down menu, and un-clicked the Auto label.  Any ideas? Help is really appreciated.
