Issues Importing PNG images

On Captivate 6, when I import a PNG image with a translucent image the image will look right on the slides but when I preview it a screwy background appears and the image gets distorted and discolored.  Does anyone know how I can correct this or is having a similiar problem?  I'm also having issues with the Captivate characters having an extra border when previewed.
