Question

Revisit lesson forces leaner to pass criteria each time learner reviews lesson

Learner views all slides and passes the course criteria, watches the video, and slides objects checked as complete. The learner returns to the lesson a month later, and the user must repass all course criteria to continue.
It is forcing leaner to retake the lesson.

I need help finding a solution that works. Does any top-level advise against sharing?

We use scorm and upload to an LMS. 2019 release

Many thanks for considering my request.

    1. When these components are not aligned, students might rightfully complain that the test did not have anything to do with what was covered in class, or instructors might feel that even though students are earning a passing grade, they haven’t really mastered the material at the desired level.

      Thanks,dunkin runs on you survey

What do you mean exactly? I do not see any link between your comment and the original question from the OP.

Whether an assessment is really testing if the presented content has been mastered is a very important question, and due to my decades of experience as professor can tell you that this is rarely achieved with simple MCQ tests.

There may not be anything wrong with the Captivate module here.

You indicate that the learner has viewed all slides, passed the course criteria and completed the module.  You did not say, but I am assuming that your LMS has then marked the learner's score correctly as completed and passed.  Is that correct?

Your "problem" is that if the learner revisits and reopens the module in the LMS it wipes out their score and forces them to redo the entire module to retain a score.  Is that correct?

If so, I'm not seeing any deficiency here in the Captivate module, only a limitation of the LMS.  You need to talk to your LMS people to see if the LMS has an option to allow a learner to review their completed modules without erasing their previous completion and score.  Many LMSs have this feature, but not all.

If it turns out that your LMS is incapable of doing this, then you need to set up the course in the LMS so that the learner is effectively locked out after successfully completing the module so that their score cannot be damaged.  You may need to provide another way for learners to view the content that does not involve the LMS.

Is it possible to post screenshots of the Quiz Preferences, Reporting? How many attempts do you allow on quiz level? Can  you try to upload the course to SCORM Cloud. That is the best way to detect whether the problem solution has to be found in Captivate or in the LMS.

Please mention the full version number of Captivate as you can find under Help, About Captivate.
