I have a page which has been the same since CF7. Recently we moved our application to CF11 to support TLS1.2 and I've since noticed that this one particular bit of code has stopped functioning correctly and it's lead me down a weird road. This is the following code block. We recently upgraded to ColdFusion 2016.  When trying to add a datasource, Microsoft Access with Unicode doesn't appear in the available list of drivers.  We have a 32-bit machine and that does appear.  Is this simply how 64-bit works, or am I missing something?

I have tried to clone my dev server to make test and UAT servers, but it has gone horribly awry.IIS crashes after reboot as soon as you bring the cloned instance up.  Uninstalling and reinstalling ISS fixes this, but then you can never connect ColdFusion back to IIS.  If you try to run wsconfig.exe and add a web server, it just tells you that "All the IIS sites are already configured by some other version of ColdFusion.I got ColdFusion support on the phone and we went through a bunch of things but could never find a root cause.  We played with temp directories, reinstalled ColdFusion, turned off the Windows Process Activation Service, made dummy IIS sites running as a new user and then tried to connect to the dummy site, none of it work.ColdFusion support seems out of answers.  Anyone have any idea?  I would hate to have to build every server from scratch rather than cloning.

Hi,We had to start from scratch on our test server, so the sysadmin team installed ColdFusion 11 and attempted to connect IIS.  The .cfm pages show up fine in the CFIDE directory, but we need our 'web root' to be a different directory on a different drive (F:\someDir).  The .cfm pages in the different directory (F:\someDir) display as html (including showing the ColdFusion tags).  This is our first time trying IIS, in the past we've successfully connected using Apache, but not on this new server.We've checked directory and file permissions.  We've removed the web connector and added it back.   The sysadmin team created a site in IIS with F:\someDir. Unfortunately I don't know enough about IIS to help our sysadmin team troubleshoot, but I'm guessing it might be related to a 'Jakarta virtual directory in IIS for that site'. Can anyone explain 'Jakarta virtual directory in IIS' in more detail or give some ideas on what could be happening?Thanks!

I need to set up a CMS to post to Facebook and Twitter. I know that I need to set up authorisation first but i am completely lost with it. We've recently upgraded CF11 to CF2016 in our dev and stage environments a few weeks ago.  After weeks of testing, we decided to push to production with:Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTSCF2016, Update 6Java "1.8.0_171"Apache 2.4.18Redis 2.6.13 for session managementEverything worked well for a day or so, then we started to see high CPU utilization on java leading to 504 gateway timeouts.I've tried changing AcceptFilter http and AcceptFilter https to none. We are trying to setup our Shibboleth to authenticate logins to adobe.com. Adobe support documentation says to add this to our relying-party but we are running Shibboleth V2 and it does not match this format. Any idea on how to accomplish this in V2? I am baffled by this problem and hope someone can help.  I have a perennial plant website that takes online orders.  For most customers, including me when I place test orders, things work as designed.  However some customers generate errors.When a new customer order comes in I create a customer ID and an order ID:<cfset variables.CustID = #CreateUUID()#><cfset variables.CustOrderID = #CreateUUID()#>I have tried this without the # signs and the result seems to be the same.  In the usual case a Coldfusion UUID is created in the form 8-4-4-16.I write the customer ID to the customer table into an nvarchar(max) column and write both the customer ID and order ID into the order table into nvarchar(max) columns.  I also have an order item detail table into which I write the custOrderID into an nvarchar(max) column.As noted, this works for most customers.However, for some customers - at least one that I am working with - two odd things occur that I can't fig

Hello,I am extending an application.cfc from another directory. In my parent application.cfc I have:<cfcomponent>this.name=hash( getCurrentTemplatePath());in the child I have:<cfcomponent extends="rootapplication">        this.name="child";It looks like the child "this.name" never runs. No matter what i do they share the same application scope and a change in one changes both (as they have the same application name).So I have two questions (different ways to fix the same problem):1. Is there a way to change the application name?2. Is there a better hash tag I can use for the parent this.name such that when run from a different directory it has a different value?.I was hoping the getCurrentTemplatePath would load the child path when the parent is extended (which would fix all my problems). When the command line prompts to enter the "Where is ColdFusion 10 located?" When folks launch CFBuilder for the first time, a "welcome page" appears. Sadly, on the right is a "ColdFusion News" feed that has info from 2014, about ColdFusion Splendor (the codename for CF11) and Thunder (the codename for CF Builder 3).Can we PLEASE get someone on the builder team to correct that? And what's odd is that the 3rd item (as I see it) is indeed a link to THIS beta. Even if this was a reflection of those being the only 3 most recent items in some feed, why does it not show the MOST recent at the top? Then some may be more forgiving of the older items that would now be "below it".But really, there ought to be new content "fed" to that feed. If someone on the CF team knows (or if anyone else knows) where it's getting its feed, perhaps some of us could contribute content to get more recent content. 🙂BTW, some notice that you can click a button at the bottom of that screen to "don't show again" (or you can turn it off in Window>Preferences>

I am running the Shibboleth login service on my ColdFusion 11 server.  After I installed update 14 my Shibboleth login stopped working.  All I get now is a "Bad Request" error following Shibboleth authentication. I uninstalled the update which got Shibboleth working again, but now I am looking for possible solutions to this problem before reapplying the update.  I think it may have to do with the Tomcat update to 7.0.85.  Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hello.I understand that for marketing reasons only, Adobe has decided to limit concurrent CFTHREAD calls in CF STD to just 10 even though no such limits exists in the underlining Java.   Does this artificially imposed concurrent thread limit which is designed solely to entice people to give $Adobe$ more money for an "Enterprise" license also limit the number of concurrent threads in the DB pool to just 10?   As you know, with each DB request a new thread is started and it would blow if Adobe expected me to spend $8500 just so that I can have more than 10 concurrent DB threads.   I might be able to accept 10 concurrent CFTHREAD calls, but DB, well, gosh golly, that would just make me write my web app in Java and call it a day.
