My overall objective here is simply to be able to use a Java logging library, specifically log4j2 here, so that I can log user accesses to the application to a folder of my choice. And also make use of log rolling facility to copy log files to an archive directory at the end ofe very day. I have been using log4j2 with ColdFusion 2016.  I just placed the two jar files, log4j-api-2.6.2,jar and log4j-core-2.6.2.jar into the folder WEB-INF\lib and my config file, log4j2.xml into WEB-INF\classes.  That worked fine because ColdFusion 2016 was using log4j version 1 and there was no conflict of package names.  In ColdFusion 2021 it is using log4j version 2 and has the files log4j-api-2.13.3,jar and log4j-core-2.13.3.jar  installed in cfusion/lib and now I get an error on the first call to log4j2 when it should be reading the configuration file.It reports:ERROR StatusLogger Unrecognized format specifierERROR StatusLogger Unrecognized conversion This is simular to w

We cannot get a valid Serial number for CF10 to work when upgrading from CF10 to CF2021.The CF10 says the number is invalid however the serial number has been checked and is valid.How do we get around this to make the install work?

After a lot of blood sweat and tears I got the pdfg servlet running on my Redhat 8 Linux server.  A could of bugs that I found are:1. The <installdirectory>cfjetty file is not reflective of the java path that the user chooses during install.  I had to update the SOLR_JVM to my java path and delete the jre folder that was put there during install.2. If you stop the pdf service it "unregisters" it from your CF instance.  When you start the service it doesn't "register" the service so you have to bounce the entire CF instance to pick it up again. Also, since you cannot rely on the fonts like a Windows install it looks only at <installdirectory>/webapps/PDFgServlet/Resources/fonts where you are given very limited font options.  I do not feel I should have to pay for Adobe .otf fonts.  Please provide some.

 I work for a non-profit school and use ColdFusion for some of our custom web app stuff needs.  I am defintiely no expert in coldfusion coding. I would like to create a form we can send applicants to so they can select the position they want to apply for, provide some basic contact information, and upload their resume and optionally a separate cover letter if it is not already part of the resume. I have been asked to make the resume a requirement to submit the form and I cannot figure out how to make a file upload on a form a requirement - is this possible? Can you point me in the right direction for accomplishing this?

I'm suddenly receiving the error message "The system has attempted to use an undefined value, which usually indicates a programming error, either in your code or some system code. Null Pointers are another name for undefined values." This is a development site on my local machine. Everything was working until I changed the database associated with the datasource. When I refreshed the page, I got the message above. Now none of the pages work. It's an old application using Fusebox 5.5 and I'm migrating it from ColdFusion 11 to ColdFusion 2018. I'm not skilled at reading stack trace, but here it is in case someone sees something useful. Hi! I need some experts here.. I really need to know if it's possible to select traced text without using the pen tool. I had uploaded a sketch of boxing gloves with signatures on them - I vectorized the image and traced it so it looks good, but I need to change the color of the traced text. However, it's very hard to get a detailed selection because they are signatures.  I know I can take the pen tool and create strokes around the text to change the color that way, but there are about 100 signatures so I'm wondering if there's an easier way. Hi, Have a query with total just 40 records in it. It is giving a timeout connection error to databasewhen running as scheduler.But,its working fine when we execute separately this query in a test page.Also,the scheduler ran at 2 times one at 6am and another 9.30 am. Its working without error on 6amwhile its giving db connection timeout error at 9.30. Checked the coldfusion out log file,but could not find any trace of the error.Any guidance is appreciated.

I have an application that runs on CF 2018. This issue happens with Chrome but I don't know if it would or wouldn't happen with other browsers.  The app uses ORM and ajax to load records that are browsed with arrows. So, let's say an order has 10 items, so users click on arrows to go to item 1, 2, etc. The item page has a fillable form that's loaded without page refresh using ajax for existing items. The issue that seems to be random that I haven't been able to replicate myself but I've seen it happen with users: Sometimes the data from the form on item 4 is saved to item 3.  Form submit is triggered anytime any input is changed. The save is done by the primary key in the table being updated. This happens very rarely but it does somehow. I also have an audit trail going of every change and I can see that user didn't duplicate those records from one item to another.  Please advise on what to test or look for. Maybe it's some setting in cf admin? I

Hello,We are working with an application in which CF REST services are being developed, however, we have noticed that ColdFusion 2018 Enterprise is generating documentation using the Swagger Specification version 1.2. Is there a ColdFusion Server update that allows the swagger documentation to be generated according to the Swagger Specification version 2.0 or 3.0? Or some other solution to solve the situation.

I've been trying to access a list in SharePoint Online using the few examples of sample code found in this forum and elsewhere online.  I'm attempting to use Basic authentication with an account I created in our O365 tenant that does not require MFA or other device trust requirements.  I've changed the password after first logon and have successfully opened and viewed the list in a browser on my computer.When I try to connect using CFSharepoint from the ColdFusion Server, I always get a 403 Forbidden error.  I don't see any failed logon attempts in the Azure Active Directory logs.Cannot perform web service invocation getlistitems. Suddenly getting java.lang.NullPointerException coldfusion.CfmServlet.init(http://CfmServlet.java:99) errors for ColdFusion 2021 server instances that are started using a Windows Service config using an Active Directory account rather than the Local System account.I have the sames setup on both CF2018 and 2021 servers and haven't seen this issue before. Seems to have started happening after a Windows Update and subsequent reboot. KB5001347. I did uninstall it, but that' didnt' resolve the issue. I have an ID (primary key) set as a BIGINT in SQL SERVER. I have a query with the following: WHERE whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_integer" value="#URL.id#"> I then got an invalid data type for it. I then tried: WHERE whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint" value="#URL.id#"> I still got an invalid data type for it. i then tried: WHERE whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_int" value="#URL.id#"> and it worked. I'm getting the following error trying to install CF 2021 on virtual Windows 10 (VirtualBox)."Invalid directory path for Coldfusion Home." The error happened when I clicked "Next" on the "ColdFusion Installation Directory". The directory I entered was "C:\ColdFusion2021". The directory definitely exists.

Have sourcetree open and functioning. Open CF Admin to download and install Server Update 1. As soon as I begin the update process, I noticed my sourcetree is now reporting an issue. Everything is still there. The folder, files, and .git file. I tried restarting both Sourcetree and my system.Any input would be greatly appreciated...

We're banging our heads on an issue - starting PDFg to use cfhtmltopdf - and I thought i'd post it here to see if anyone has had anything similar happen.  We're on CF2016 Standard (upgraded from CF11) on Windows 2012.  When the upgrade was done, about a year ago, we can see in the logs that the PDFg service was initially registered and working.  But, soon after, we started seeing this error message in the logs - "Error in setting up authentication for PDFg services".  We have done a lot of experimentation including observing the port activity in the background, and it just seems like CF is not really trying to enable and/or verify this service (perhaps because of an authentication issue).Anyone have any similar problems?  Any ideas what it might be?Nick

I want to query for a condition that is case specific. WHEREANTGN_CD_SHT_DESC = 'C Antigen' Is not the same as WHEREANTGN_CD_SHT_DESC = 'c Antigen' These are red blood cell antigens.  The two listed above are often referred to as big C or little c. Can case be built into a query?  The field will always have the word Antigen at the end, and the first part if not always just one letter, for instance, it might be 'Fya Antigen'.  I am accessing our lab system and have no control over that table. Thank you
