Question

Webcam pausing for participants

Hi,

I am probably being stupid here. We have a session where participants are required to take part in a video chat. This requires up to participants havig their webcam active and being able to see the others in the session and respond accordingly.

For the host everything works as expected and all video feeds are viewable. The participants however only have thumbnals of the other screens and whichever individual they click on. Is there a way for the particiapnts to have all webcams viewable? Most of the participants are accessing wither through a browser or mobile app.

Any help is always appreciated.

Thanks.

Are they joining in the browser (globe next to their name)? If so, only two videos will play at a time in the browser due to performance limitations. They can un-pause videos but it will pause one of the playing videos.

If I wanted to do training with participants being able to turn webcams on and chat, I'd recommend Zoom or WebEx.  Adobe Connect is a great platform for many interactive features, but the video does seem to choke the bandwidth.  Joining from the web browser makes it even worse.

Adobe Connect is not, nor has it ever been, a video conferencing platform. Connect really shines as a virtual training platform that does have some live video functionality. At some point in the coming year I would expect this to change as Adobe is moving to a more modern video codec, but we'll have to wait and see how that works. There is is no perfect application that can do everything.

I agree with Chris that Zoom or WebEx are better platforms if you want to see everyone's live video while you teach.
