Good afternoon community. Tell me how you can increase the resolution of the smart material? I have texture settings as in the screenshot, visually and the resolution should be higher.I tried again to click on the Bake Selected texture, for some reason the quality of the materials for all is no more than 512 px although it is set as 2048 px.
the new release (8.1.0) of june 08 will be set it up for steam or no longer ?
HiI have been going through the Substance 3d tutorial and got to Part 4 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHpGMHHxM_o&list=PLB0wXHrWAmCwnqWfKdGEmbtSKN2EzvLrY&index=5). Then after a few weeks, continued with it and got part of the way into Part 5 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iUVOfGOxPI&list=PLB0wXHrWAmCwnqWfKdGEmbtSKN2EzvLrY&index=6), the rendering with vRay, when i noticed all my decals and hard surface details was missing. I opened the file again, but it was still missing, then i opended a previous version i did weeks ago with the decals, and that also was missing the decals and hard surfce details. I have noticed that in all those versions the Hard Surfaces layer is now missing, so not sure whats going on. Can any one help with this. Wasn't sure whether to put this into the 'Technical Issues' part of the Forum, as i am new to Substance 3D Painter, so not sure if its something i did. Thanks.
In the three following example tutorials, dealing with, applying a bitmap texture to your object from within Substance Painter, you will notice that once they drag their image texture to the Color Channel, their moving cursor then contains the Image. My Substance Painter, (7.4.3 build 1608), does not. Hello all,I have a question about exporting (for example FBX, OBJ etc) models to Substance Painter regarding units.My current workflow for the units is to leave the default scale of 1 cm in Maya and interpret it as 1 meter. For example, if I take a cube that is 1 meter, then it stays at 1x1x1 (Recommended workflow from Autodesk). Now my question is, when exporting to Substance Painter, should I adjust the export of the units, or leave it as is? Should I export the "Test Cube" as 1x1x1 (which is actually only 1cm, but I interpret it as 1 meter) or should I scale it to 100x100x100 for export? By the way, does this also apply to Mari? Maybe someone can help me. Best regards,

Hi, I really want to know how to change Steam version to standlone version?
Since yesterday I am trying to open substance painter app form creative cloud (on a new mac with my own account) first substance painter gave an error, did not open at all. Then I uninstall substance painter, download it again and it's the same. Then I tried to uninstall creative cloud, it didnt uninstall so I used appcleaner. Trying to download creative cloud again, when I click the app icon nothing happens. I've never seen such thing. I really Need substance painter right now. Please help me to solve this problem
Hi,I need to create "laces" for a dressed character and have problems getting the texture wrapped correctly around the mesh.I tried a fill layer with different projection modes, but get only bad results.Paint it by hand seems to be not acurate enough and I have no idea how to do that otherwise.Do you have an idea how to solve this?I attached some screenshots.Thanks and best,Peter

Hi,I use the lastest version of Substance Designer, and 7.1.1 version of Substance Painter. And my Painter can't import the sbsar file published by my Designer.I've checked that the Substance Painter 7.1.1 use the substance engine v8. So it should not have compatibility issues.Can anybody tell me how to solve this problem?
OK program starts now, that's a good sign I guess? But as soon as I start painting the tutorial model that appears the program freezes and stops responding. I did the registry key thing it tells you to do so I don't get why it is freezing? It sits in Task Manager on 0% CPU and 2GB RAM used (I have 16). The program is completely unusable and unreliable. 😞

Bei der Aufforderung zur Eingabe der Zahlungsinformationen werde ich auch nach der Mwst.-Nummer gefragt, die Angabe ist aber optional. Weiß jemand, ob ich diese angeben sollte bzw. wozu sie benötigt wird? Ich habe Adobe noch nie zuvor verwendet und weiß nicht, ob das wichtig ist. Vielen Dank im Voraus für Eure Hilfe!
My seams look perfect on 3ds but in painter they are streching, anyone knows why?

This is my first post here so I apologize if I'm not in the proper forum forthis specific question.Basically what I'm trying to understand is how do I provide someone with a 3D model that I've textured in Substance painter, in a way that allows them to adjust certain properties of said textures or materials?For example I've created a lantern in Blender, Imported to Substance and applied somebasic materials like painted steel for the body and an opacity channel on some glossy plastic to produce "glass". However, my inital concern comes from the color of the emission channelfor the light itself. I imported everything into Unity and got everything setupbut I noticed changing the color of the emission mask for the light material in Unity seems to removeany glow the emission once had at it's default color.I imagine there must be a way to allow the end user to adjust the color, or various other propertiesof my materials in a non-destructive fashion. Hey there, I've got a question/bug i've run into. I often like to make fill layers ( and paint a mask ), and then add separate paint layers inside of that fill to get better color variation inside one " layer" For some reason halfway through my project the pain layer added to any fill layer is a desaturated green. Making new layers, changing color, etc etc does not resolve. Does anyone know why this would happen? More importantly, how to fix it? Image attached and thanks!
Hi Community, I would like to use large .exrs in my camera projection mapping tool but the application just crashes when input the base colour. It is fine with .pngs but this doesn't provide enough colour information. any ideas why this is happening? is there a file size limit or a resolution limit for .exrs?
Hello! I am fairly new to texturing. I noticed my exported diffuse map looks VERY different than what I see in substance. My metal simply doesn't show up in some places and when it does there's this weird effect instead of clean cut edges? There's no metal once imported in maya either. What could cause this?Thanks! Hey allI want to draw some panel lines style details,and I cant find how to draw with the Paint brush tool on the Normal map.It seems I can only stamp pre-made shapes.Do I need to do this on the Height channel instead?Thanksitai
Hey there! When i'm tessellating a mesh in painter driven by a triplanar heightmap i have several gaps, boundary edges that makes my mesh opened.First i thought it's because the uv seam, but as You can see on the attached shot, they are randomly everywhere.How can i close those opened edges/vertexes (shot attached)?I don't even want to merge them, just make them "bridged" with additional triangles. Hi everyone. I've been using the 2018 version 'till few days ago but I switch to the newest version because only the recent version runs on my surface pro 7. The problem is that I've been using some materials that I've purchase separately from other artists but they only work with older version of substance painter. Is there any way that I can import them in the newest version of the program? Maybe a converter, or a manual drag and drop to a specific program's folder? Thanks in advance for your help.
I made this model for a uni course and it's not being imported into substance properly or at least i think it is. The model was correctly exported and uv mapped in 3ds max as far as I am aware. I have tried both the current and last versions of substance painter and they have both imported the model like this.any help would be really appreciated.
