Building new PC-Creative Cloud Transfer

So today I am using a Windows 10 Pro desktop with i9900K processor. This is nearly three years old and I am now about to upgrade and build a new platform using 13900K 24 core processor.

I have built several PC's before - that is not the issue.

My question is - when I install Creative Cloud on this new machine (ensuring only 2 machines logged to Creative Cloud) - will it allow me to see all APPS I see today.

In particular, I have some older Premiere and Media Encoder versions (2018/2019 versions) for example.

Today they are on my current desktop and work. I want to keep those to address some specific older projects.

For new work I always use latest Adobe versions

So in a nutshell -will a new Creative Cloud install on my new machine allow me to install those 2018/2019 older app versions as I have on my new machine ?......or not ?. Does Adobe Creative Cloud prevent installation of certain older versions if it is a clean install with no historical baggage on the machine?.

Finally I assume there is no specific process (or back up) procedure of certain local files I need to allow me to do that, other than simply installing the latest Creative Cloud App and signing in with my account

If I can't then install those older Premiere and Media Encoder Apps ...I will not be a happy bunny so can someone please clarify this.

I've looked and cannot find a clear answer to this question.

Many thanks

having a current subscription gives you access to current and previous versions.  adobe claims to support only the two most current versions, but you can use all versions (if you have compatible computers).

1. you can install the latest and 1 version prior versions using the cc desktop app. you must have a subscription because previous versions are not available with trials. other versions are revealed after clicking file preferences>apps>tick show older apps (at panel bottom).

2. for versions cc 2019 and older, use prodesign tools.com*.

3. for versions newer than cc 2019 but older than one previous version, contact adobe support for links.**

* most (but not all) adobe download links are available from prodesigntools.com. https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-direct-download-links.html

follow the directions (esp, step 1)

save the install file. it may not remain online.

** there are 3 ways to contact adobe; chat, phone and twitter:

chat:
use a browser that allows popups and cookies, and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.

phone:

twitter:
tweet @AdobeCare

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam,

Thank you for the information about ProDesign Tools site - but this creates yet more work for me as a customer as I have do so something 'special' just to retrieve what I already have - Adobe once again fail to make things easy despite the fact I have a full annual CC subscription.

Contacting support is also a painful and time wasting experience, I know this after doing it several times in the past.

I have had a quick look at the ProDesign Tools page. I can see Direct Links for CC 2023....2018.

If I have built my new PC and have installed the latest 2023 Creative Cloud Desktop - to be able to download say Premiere 2018 - I have clicked on CC 2018. It comes up with a page that has Premiere but offers 'Trial' or buy?

If I am signed in on CC 2023 doesn't it detect I have an account?

Could you clarify how to gain access to individual Premiere and Media Encoder 2018, 2019 versions.

Apologies if I have misunderstood something here.

Short Answer: No.

A new installation of Creative Cloud includes only the latest 2 versions of CC apps.  Prior versions that were perviously installed on other devices do not carry over to a new machine.

ProDesign Tools has links to some older versions if Adobe has not already removed them.  Follow the VERY IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS or it won't work.  Also keep in mind that old software may not work on newer operating systems.

Hope that helps.

Thank you Nancy for clarifying this.

As usual - Adobe take the position - 'Let's make something as complex, time consuming  and annoying for our 'loyal customer user base' as we can.

Adobe please get a grip and live in the real world - all we want to do is upgrade our Hardware and replicate what we already have on our account and on our previous desktop today - which we pay for each month.

I just don't need this hassle.

You're welcome. I tried to make this as painless as possible. 😕😕

Adobe prefers customers to use current software for complicated 3rd party licensing (legal) and security reasons.  It's not to punish customers, I assure you.
