PDF in Portfolio website [Topic edited for clarity by moderator]

Hello

Is there a plugin or another way to add PDF files to my portfolio? A lot of my work involves designing these and so helpful to be able to show them.

I'm aware of Options such as Scribd, Heyzine, etc but they come with design glitches, and since no custom HTML/CSS can be added in Portfolio this is a problem. Surprised there is no current capability to upload, especially since it's an Adobe technology.

I'd like a native solution please if anyone else has found one. If not, Adobe please deliver this feature. I can't be the only one asking for it?

Thanks

Short Answer: No.

Long Answer:  PDF is not a native web file format. It's media.  PDF media requires a viewer like Acrobat or free Acrobat Reader.

The best you can do is create a screenshot of your PDF to give site visitors an idea of what it is.  And create an external link to the PDF file on file sharing service like DropBox or Google Drive. Users will need to download the PDF and open it in Acrobat if they have it.

See link below for details on creating an external link in Portfolio pages

Hope that helps.

Thanks Nancy.

By native I meant supported within Portfolio i.e. upload and display from there. I could link to for download, or embed but neither of those are suitable.

The lack of support is odd given Acrobat is part of Creative Cloud. I had hoped portfolio would be an easy option, but at this rate may have to go back to my Wordpress site.

Web standards are what they are. Adobe doesn't create web standards. That's done by the Word Wide Web Consortium (W3C) & the various browser makers (Chrome, Firefox, MS Edge, Safari, Opera...).

Some browsers have onboard PDF viewers but most fall way short of Acrobat. The browser's handling of PDFs can range from acceptable to horrible depending on browser and what the PDF file contains.
