It is not a firewall problem as far as I can tell. I disabled everything on my computer and the error is in my other ebooks as well. I went through the suggested technote to no effect. On the wierd side I do show a digitaleditions2x0. Not sure wher to go from here but I am fairly frustrated at this point.

This is probably a firewall/network or proxy problem as described in this technote:

"Error: "Adobe DRM Error" when you activate Digital Editions or access an eBook"

Well, ideally on the acrobat forum, though I'm not sure you'll get much help there either.

Are there any DRM error numbers listed in that error? If so I might be able to find it in one of the old knowledgebase docs.. or maybe one of the engineers might have an idea...

OK. So I take it there is no DRM forum or gruop which handles these type of issues?
    July 28, 2008
Bob, I can't really help you with Reader-specific errors (I only came into the ebook world as of Digital Editions...) So you should try the Acrobat forum for this one I'd say..

(and no, there is no word on read-aloud for ADE.. you still need to use Reader...)

    Hi,
I'm getting this error on v7.0.9. And yes, I would like to upgrade but I have to use this version if I want test to speech capabilities (unless you have updated information). The publisher for whatever reason is no longer available (according to the eBook distributor eDiesel).

All I really want to do is read the book I have paid for. ;-(

Is this the proper forum for this question or should I switch to another?

    Thanks!

    Bob,

Unforutnately, due to an error on the web team somewhere, the adobe.com/support/digital editions page incorrectly showed an email address that you could use for contacting support. However, that information was incorrect. All support is done through
    http://www.adobe.com/support/digitaleditions.

So are you getting this error in Digital Editions 1.5?? Or in some version of Acrobat Reader?
