How do we validate an author of a book after transferring Digital Editions to a new computer?

I have recently transferred my Adobe Digital Editions to my new computer and although I have the new Adobe Digital Editions application running, I am unable to open any of the books that I have purchased. It says that I do not have a valid vendor's ID. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
