Background and Lighting Coloring Control

Hi all,

I'm trying to generate a white porcelain cup (The 3de model has been loaded from the Adobe Stock cups). When I import the 3d object and place it on my background it appears a muddy brown. So i tried to click on the base colour and set that to white. Then added my transparent decal and rendered. Muddy brown was the result.

So i tried again and added a white plastic material to the cup, but again this stayed a brown colour. When I rendered on Medium that is what I got too.

Can anyone suggest a simple way of getting a white porcelain cup?

Thanks,

Sam

Hi Sam!  Can you please send a screenshot and a link to the Adobe Stock model that you are using?  It might be a specific asset issue or something related to your rendering on your system, but I"ll need to look to see.

Hi Jeanette,

Thanks for taking an interest. I am using Adobe Stock Model White Coffee Cup (116a). I have attached a screenshot. Im a beginner and probably am doing something silly. Please ignore the blue cup behind - its a 2d part of the background image.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Sam

Ah!  Looks like you're using the Match Image feature which uses the background image and use it for lighting and reflections.  However the image is a downward angle so you're mostly seeing table and all that brown is being used as lighting and reflections.

Here's an example from a similar image.

Here's an example with the image light intensity turned up and the sunlight intensity turned up.  Using the sunlight can be great to counter some of the image light if it's too strongly colored like the example you used.
