Decal issues - distortions

I'm having trouble with decal application to some custom STL files I have imported. (image attached)

the image distorts around certain edging pulling the decal over the sides of the object. I need everything to stay flat (like a sticker) on the front of the object.

Any suggestions how to prevent/fix this issue?

select the front area with the magic wand and change that material...

also add some blank space around the edge of your decal to stop it auto wrapping

p.s, if you want to share the model | decal we can demo for you

There can be different solutions.

1. Fit image manually using scaling options for decal.

2. Back object scaling

3. Create outline arround imported image before using it as decal.

If you are familar with Photoshop 3d. You can use 3d Exrusion from image selection or layer for creating 3d object in PS, export as STL or OBJ and then import into Dn for final render and finishing your design.
