Creative Cloud Desktop Error 190 on fully updated Windows 10 22H2 – KANC 7.0.7.25

Creative Cloud Desktop fails to update with Error 190 on Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (OS build 19045.7663).

The installer attempts to install Adobe Native Client (KANC) 7.0.7.25, but the installation fails during the OS requirement check.

The installation log reports:
“Sanity check for installation failed. Current OS version 10.0.19045 doesn't satisfy OS requirements.”
“Error occurred in install product workflow with error code 190.”

Windows Update is fully up to date.

Troubleshooting performed:
- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth completed successfully.
- SFC /scannow found corrupted files and repaired them successfully.
- Creative Cloud Desktop was repaired.
- Creative Cloud Desktop was removed using the official Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, selecting “Creative Cloud only”.
- Creative Cloud Desktop was reinstalled using Adobe's official Windows 10 64-bit installer.
- Error 190 persists after the clean installation.

The installer successfully connects to Adobe servers and receives HTTP 200 responses before failing at the OS requirement check.

Photoshop and Illustrator are installed and currently work normally.

This PC cannot officially upgrade to Windows 11 because the hardware does not meet Windows 11 requirements.

Please investigate why KANC 7.0.7.25 rejects Windows 10 22H2 build 19045.

Same issue here. Confirming the root cause directly from Adobe's own manifest.

    Environment:
    - Windows 10 Pro 22H2, build 19045.6466, x64
    - Creative Cloud Desktop 6.10.0.253 (Adobe Setup 6.10.0.252)
    - Failing component: SAPCode KANC ("Adobe Native Client") 7.0.7.25
    - 100 failed attempts logged since 2026-08-31

    From C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\Install.log:

[FATAL] HDPIM | ApplicationManager | Sanity check for installation failed.
Current OS version 10.0.19045 doesn't satisfy OS requirements.
[FATAL] HDPIM | WorkFlowManager | Error occurred in install product workflow
              with error code 190
[INFO]  HDSetup | AppContext | Exit Code: 190

Root cause. The server-side manifest at

      https://cdn-ffc.oobesaas.adobe.com/core/v3/applications
        ?name=KANC&version=7.0.7&platform=win64&build=7.0.7.25

    returns, for Platform "win64":

      "SystemRequirement":{"SupportedOsVersionRange":[{"min":"10.0.22000"}]}
      "CheckCompatibility": const winChecks={minOSVersion:"10.0.0.22000"};
                            const macChecks={minOSVersion:"11.0"};
      localized string:     OperatingSystemWin:
"Windows 10 Anniversary Update (64-bit) (Minimum required)"

The ENFORCED minimum (10.0.22000 = Windows 11) contradicts:
      1. the same manifest's own user-facing string
         (Windows 10 Anniversary Update = build 10.0.14393);
      2. Adobe's published Creative Cloud desktop requirements
         (Windows 10 64-bit, version 1903 and later).

The macOS floor in the same object is macOS 11.0 — an old, permissive baseline.
This suggests "11" was intended as the version floor on both platforms, but on
Windows it was translated into build 22000 (Windows 11) by mistake.

Impact: KANC never installs; C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe OS Extension
is never created. Other components (e.g. CCXProcess on 2026-09-02) install normally
after KANC began failing on 2026-08-31, so the defect is isolated to this manifest.

Requested fix: correct SupportedOsVersionRange.min and winChecks.minOSVersion for
KANC win64 to the documented Windows 10 baseline. This is a server-side metadata
change and would resolve the issue without any client update.

I did some further troubleshooting and found a potentially relevant technical detail.

My system is Windows 10 Pro 22H2, build 19045.6466. Creative Cloud Desktop and all installed Adobe applications were working correctly before this issue appeared.

Since the problem started immediately after Windows Update installed KB5126256, I initially suspected that update. I have now completely removed KB5126256 using DISM, rebooted the system, verified that the package was no longer installed, and tested the Creative Cloud Desktop update again.

Error 190 still occurs exactly as before, so KB5126256 can reasonably be ruled out as the cause.

What seems much more interesting is the OS requirement check performed by Adobe Native Client (KANC) 7.0.7.25.

Other reports/logs related to this issue indicate:

Current OS version 10.0.19045 doesn't satisfy OS requirements.

There also appears to be a minOSVersion requirement associated with the affected component of:

    10.0.0.22000

If this is correct, build 22000 corresponds to Windows 11, whereas Windows 10 22H2 is build 19045.

This raises the possibility that KANC 7.0.7.25, or its deployment metadata, is currently declaring Windows 11 as the minimum supported OS, even though Creative Cloud Desktop officially supports Windows 10 22H2.

That would explain why fully updated Windows 10 22H2 systems are receiving Error 190 despite otherwise meeting Adobe's published system requirements.

Could someone from Adobe engineering please verify the minOSVersion / OS compatibility metadata being distributed with KANC 7.0.7.25?

At this point, this looks less like a problem with individual Windows 10 installations and more like a possible OS-version requirement mismatch in the current Creative Cloud Desktop update package.

Same here! Windows 10 22H2. By the way, my Acrobat also quit working properly, can’t comment or write annotations properly. Ignores my second click. Super-Annoying. Paying for this...

Same bug here! Windows 10 Pro 22H2, the Creative Cloud App fails to update due to a 190 error.

Same issue here.  Was working fine a week ago.  It’s now giving me this error, and after many combinations of repairing and uninstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop app, it won’t go away.  The only log I see that’s relevant is

FATAL: Sanity check for installation failed. Current OS version 10.0.19045 doesn't satisfy OS requirements.
FATAL: Error occurred in install product workflow with error code 190 error message

Well, it seems to be an error of Creative Cloud Desktop App. First of all, (for me) all apps are running fine so only Creative Cloud Desktop App is affected. The bug occurs often (try to google), since Adobe has changed the system requirements of their video apps to Windows 11 (only). While you first were able to install Adobe Premiere Pro 2026 and After Effects 2026 it is now recommended only for Windows 11. Also Adobe Bridge 2026 suddenly quits an update with the message “not compatible ...”

So I think, that triggers Creative Cloud Desktop App too to reject installing the new updates. It seems to be a software bug and we still have to wait until Adobe gets rid of this problem. I’ve tried to deinstall Adobe Bridge 2026, but error 190 is still present.

No uninstall / reinstall / Clean up procedere helps

For me: Nothing else went wrong and all Apps are running fine without any errors. So let’s see, what Adobe offers the next weeks - the Creative Cloud Desktop App resists only updates but works as expected.

    What we can do?
Bug report to Adobe and - that is important:
Have you ever installed (and maybe deinstalled again) one of the following apps?
    Adobe Premiere Pro 2026
    After Effects 2026
    Media Encoder 2026
    Adobe Bridge 2026

If so, the installation (and possible deinstallation) of one of these apps could lead into error 190

But note: there are several known causes of the 190 error indeed.

I know, that doesn’t help much, but if your apps are running fine, don’t hesitate.

I did have all 4 installed, got the error in Creative Cloud Desktop App, and uninstalled Adobe Bridge 2026 only (but still get the error in Creative Cloud Desktop App).

It will take me some time to uninstall the other 3 and see if the error still occurs.  This week I’m just using InDesign and Illustrator, and those do seem to be working fine.  I was having an issue with Adobe fonts showing up, but that seems to have resolved itself.

I came here with the same issue that popped up 2 days ago, to find others complaining, good to know i’m not alone

unfortunately, there are several known causes of the 190 error that require troubleshooting to pin down.

No, I’m not trying to install Premiere Pro. The issue is with Creative Cloud Desktop itself.
