Creative Suite 6.

When I can no longer afford creative cloud, will the CS6 apps downloaded from creative cloud still function after I stop my cc subscription? Also... I know I need to save InDesign files, as IMDL, but I'll be able to open CC Illustrator and Photoshop files with the older CS apps, right?

As Nancy said, Macs are an issue with the current OS. I'm able to run CS6, but I had the software. If you do have CS6, CC will take it over, so you would need to activate it with the original key. You should be able to run CS5, if you have the disks.

The bare minimum you will need is:

- original download or DVD for installing (no longer available)

- the original serial number for CS6

- a deep clean of your system to remove CC licensing (formatting system and reinstall may be easiest)

You can use the CC Cleaner to remove the licensing certificates. I just did that, trying to fix another issue, and am now using CS6 until I can get an answer why my CC apps no longer work.

Actually, I misunderstood your question.  Unless you previously purchased a perpetucal license for CS6, you cannot use the software.

I don't know if I had a perpetual license for CS6... I did have for CS5.

Log-in to your Adobe account and click this link https://account.adobe.com/products

Also, you MAY have problems with serial number programs after you end your subscription

As soon as you install any part of the Cloud, even a trial, it replaces your program management system
-if you plan to keep using a serial number program you should NOT install a Cloud program, not even a trial
-Read Cloud takes over https://community.adobe.com/t5/Get-Started/Get-off-the-cloud/td-p/8075485 for some ideas

Maybe yes, maybe no.  Old CS6 software is unsupported & discontinued.  There's no guarantee any of this will work on newer operating systems.

Any files you created with newer software, particularly those containing modern elements that didn't exist in CS6, may not work well in legacy software.

If you anticipate ending your subscription soon, be sure to save PSD copies as TIFF.  Export AI files to SVG.  SVG code can be edited in a plain code/text editor if needed.
