Question

deactivation of an old license

I would like to deactivate my Premium Production suite CS 6 on my old computer so that I don't have any problems when I reinstall it on a new computer.
For example, when I go to “Help” in After Effects and click on “Deactivate”, I always get the message that no connection to the server is possible. However, the computer has access to the Internet.
What can I do to deactivate this old license?

Hello,
thanks to everyone for the support so far.
As already mentioned, I wanted to uninstall the software on my old computer in order to move to a new computer with win 11. I had tried to find out in advance whether the old CS6 Suite also runs under win 11 and I had the impression that this should actually work.
However, after installing the software from the original CD and restarting as recommended, the computer no longer starts and now I need to find someone to help me with this problem.
I am now putting the issue on hold until the new computer is up and running again

The new subscription models are simply too expensive for people on a low income, especially if you rarely use the software and don't use it commercially.

I have tested and tried everything possible. It looks like the deactivation no longer works with windows 7. Does it make sense to upgrade the computer to windows 8 just for this deactivation? Would Win 8 be enough or would it even have to be Win 8.1?

It's kind of strange, because there must be a solution if the PC breaks down!!!

No.  You need Windows 10 with latest updates or higher.  And a modern browser like Firefox, Chrome or MS Edge.

Keep in mind that CS6 is unsupported legacyware from 2012. It's outdated & way beyond it's 'replace me' date. There's no guarantee that it will work on a new computer system.  The risk is entirely your own. Adobe can't help you with unsupported software.

Hello Warron ,
thank you very much for your message.
I tried Photoshop and the other programs in the suite and always got the error message that no connection to the Internet can be established (see picture 1).
This message also says to contact support if there are any problems.
So I clicked on it and got into the chat. There I finally got the information that they could no longer help with an old computer with win7 and that the connection to the server with win7 computers was not possible.
I then asked if he could deactivate the old license, which was denied. I was referred to the community, maybe they could help me there!
This is all very disappointing and frustrating and I am used to better support from other software companies. I cannot recommend Adobe to anyone!
In order to be able to deactivate it, I even had a new power supply installed because the old one was broken.
What is also very strange is that when I click on “update”, a connection to the server can be established and the download works (see picture 2)

Hallo,

Vielen Dank vorab

Try deactivation in Photoshop via the Help pulldown menu.

Also, back when CS6 was new, we used Adobe Application Manager instead of Creative Cloud Desktop.
