Question

How do I download an older version of Adobe XD?

Hi there, I'd like to download Adobe XD but the current version of the app that's showing in the Creative Cloud downloas list is not compatible with the Mac OS software I have installed (10.13.4). I had XD on the Mac previously so I know that there is a compatible version. I've tried to follow the instructions here on the forum and in the Adobe Help Centre for downloading a previous version but quite simply, when I click on the 3 dots next to Adobe XD in the Creative Cloud download list "Other Versions" is not available. Please note that upgrating the Mac OS is not an option. Can anyone help? Or let me know how on earth I can contact an actual person at Adobe for help? Many thanks, Jayne.

1. you can install the latest and 1 version prior versions using the cc desktop app. you must have a subscription because previous versions are not available with trials. other versions are revealed after clicking file preferences>apps>tick show older apps (at panel bottom).

2. for versions cc 2019 and older, use prodesign tools.com*.

3. for versions newer than cc 2019 but older than one previous version, contact adobe support for links.**

* most (but not all) adobe download links are available from prodesigntools.com. https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-direct-download-links.html

follow the directions (esp, step 1)

save the install file. it may not remain online.

thank jim @ prodesigntools.com

** there are 3 ways to contact adobe; chat, phone and twitter:

chat:
use a browser that allows popups and cookies, and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.

phone:

twitter:
tweet @AdobeCare

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam,

Thanks ever so much for your help Jim. Prodesigntools.com looks like a fantastic resource. I've hopped on over to have a look and can't seem to find a link to download Adobe XD from 2018 or 2019. I don't want to download the whole Creative Suite with the 20 apps option. Do you have just XD available?

if prodesigntools doesn't have it , you'll need to contact adobe support.

Adobe support only the current version of apps, and one version before. In recent years they have changed so that "do not support" now means "will not give old versions". (At one time you could choose any old version). There is no point contacting Adobe, unless you need them to repeat their support policy. If you can't upgrade your macOS to follow the current system requirements, I suggest not subscribing to Adobe products. If you have a Mac that could run current macOS, but a strong reason to run the old macOS (like, old apps that cannot be upgraded), look into the "dual boot" option for your Mac.
