I have purchased CS3 and LR2 new from an apple retail store. I just moved to a new computer and it will not allow me to copy to my new one without a product key. I started a chat and they told me that I was out the money. $700.00 CS3 and $199.00 LR.

It sure seems after spending that much money with Adobe there would be an easier way to take care of your customer than spend another $900

Help!

Adobe programs need to be installed, they cannot be copied from one location to another.  If you do not have the serial numbers for these products then you are likely out of luck getting them running again on any new installation.  If you own the discs, then the serial number is usually found on the disc cover.

If you just purchased those items at an Apple store they are not new... they are actually quite old.

I doubt they mentioned anything regarding you being out the money you spent, more likely they told you they no longer provide support for older products and you conclude you are out the money you spent - it is not an uncommon thing to hear - it's unfortunate, but not uncommon.

Also, the chances of these old software products running on a new Mac are quite small. Apple have changed Mac OS so often. When you upgrade you need to budget for upgrading EVERYTHING.
