Why is Adobe Captivate not part of Creative Cloud?

It seems it would be a great addition to workflows that require screen capture + publishing. As a creative, I often need to integrate screen capture videos in projects such as trailers, web site or application videos, or simply product presentation. Unless explained, I just don't see why it's not part of the Cloud package...  Now I have to consider buying Camtasia or using crappy freewares...

Referring the community to this link makes sense because that is the only thing you can suggest for us to do.  Knowing the community would have wanted the product included in their subscription in the first place and instead,  making us have to vote does not. To make things easier in the future just know we want all developed apps included in our subscription.  Even if that means some premium tier plan that costs a bit more monthly...  voting is just silly.  Voting still hasn't brought a simple spell checker to Adobe Story. Good thing you guys legitimately happen to be one of the best companies ever or this stuff would really haunt you.

Captivate is convenient  to use for e-Learning projects but it's not the only tool available to us.  As Full Creative Cloud Plan members, we have access to all the products we need to create rich multi-media and e-Learning content providing we have the coding skills and know-how for it.

If Adobe wants to keep Captivate (formerly called e-Learning Suite) as a separate product offering, that's their prerogative.  There may well be contractual / legal reasons for this that we as product users know nothing about.   In short, it's not our decision to make.

Finally, I think this thread from 2012 has run its course.  I am locking it from further posts.  If someone has  compelling reasons for unlocking it, please private message me.

Happy 2018!

Good folks at Adobe,

I would leave Articulate in a HEARTBEAT if you added Captivate to the Creative Cloud. I'm sure there is a whole world full of Instructional Designers that feel the same way.

As of now, I pay you $120/year for Photoshop only, but I'd really love to subscribe to Creative Cloud, if you included an eLearning platform. I'd gladly pay the $600 (or even more, really) annually from now until doomsday if I could fill all of my eLearning needs with one Adobe CC subscription. Think about it.

Love,

This is an incorrect answer - the link doesn't work.

Captivate SHOULD be in the CC membership - and I'm confident Adobe will resolve this in short order.

This post is really old, so Adobe has not listened to any of the people who suggested this. Adobe Cloud is supposed to be all of Adobe, I was let down by the exclusion of Captivate in the line up.

I just submitted the below Feature Request via the wishform. I suggest if users wish to offer a +1 vote for a Captivate or Captivate Lite offering in CC, they post it as a Captivate or CC feature request via wishform: Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Below is what I just posted... fwiw I will be unfollowing this thread in a week or so. Wanted to conclude by making a feature request via the form that Adobe may see... not sure if they see this forum post.

Posted via https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html as a Captivate feature request...

There are users on the forum, including myself, who would like to see Captivate or a "Captivate Lite" offering available as part of the CC subscription. Below is a URL to the forum post where people keep expressing a +1 vote and interest for this offering. The web URL specified in that post which supposedly allows one to vote +1 is inaccessible to users. We assume this is because it is a dated discussion ... yet users are still chiming in... maybe Adobe isn't seeing that post, wanted to let you know. Thanks!

I agree!  It is time for this application to be included in the Creative Cloud.

I'm  creative cloud subscriber. Have been for several years. Yet when I attempt to go to the link you provide to vote on wether Captivate should be a part of Creative Clout is tells me I'm restricted? [profanity removed by moderator]

It is now 2017 and still no Captivate in the CC offerings. Voting can't be going well. Captivate is great for delivering interactive presentations, information dissemination like training courses or the collection of information. I am waiting for an application that can mimic the interaction of a face-to-face presentation, where normally the operator can pause a video to ask questions or take questions that interject with the presentation. Interactive video would be nice, where at any point through a video you can ask for elaboration on a point presented in the video, pausing the video and initiating a secondary audiovisual to elaborate on the primary one, returning to the primary audiovisual upon completion, or at audience discretion. It is like embedding hyperlinks throughout the audiovisual presentation that users can activate. Food for thought for digital technology developers.

This post was made so long ago!!! How is this still an issue?

Adobe is a subscription based service, if people don't like it they will go somewhere else.

Inkscape instead of Illistrator

Krita instead of photoshop

Sync instead of animator

I should not be finding viable substitutions

I should content be in my comfortable little subscription.

VOTE YES on adding Captivate to CC. Why is it missing?

I think I know why Captivate isn't part of CC, simply because it doesn't work well with the rest of the Adobe products.

Think about it, All the CC products work seamlessly together, but Captivate is the odd one out.  It's clunky, the animation features suck, it isn't very intuitive and it certainly doesn't feel like an Adobe product.

I think Adobe should scrap Captivate and build a new solution from the ground up, and give us something more in line with the rest of Adobe products that is creative and easy to work with.  Not like the current Captivate monster!
