Why is Adobe Captivate not part of Creative Cloud?

It seems it would be a great addition to workflows that require screen capture + publishing. As a creative, I often need to integrate screen capture videos in projects such as trailers, web site or application videos, or simply product presentation. Unless explained, I just don't see why it's not part of the Cloud package...  Now I have to consider buying Camtasia or using crappy freewares...

Referring the community to this link makes sense because that is the only thing you can suggest for us to do.  Knowing the community would have wanted the product included in their subscription in the first place and instead,  making us have to vote does not. To make things easier in the future just know we want all developed apps included in our subscription.  Even if that means some premium tier plan that costs a bit more monthly...  voting is just silly.  Voting still hasn't brought a simple spell checker to Adobe Story. Good thing you guys legitimately happen to be one of the best companies ever or this stuff would really haunt you.

Captivate is convenient  to use for e-Learning projects but it's not the only tool available to us.  As Full Creative Cloud Plan members, we have access to all the products we need to create rich multi-media and e-Learning content providing we have the coding skills and know-how for it.

If Adobe wants to keep Captivate (formerly called e-Learning Suite) as a separate product offering, that's their prerogative.  There may well be contractual / legal reasons for this that we as product users know nothing about.   In short, it's not our decision to make.

Finally, I think this thread from 2012 has run its course.  I am locking it from further posts.  If someone has  compelling reasons for unlocking it, please private message me.

Happy 2018!

It has my vote as well. Captivate would be a very welcome addition the creative cloud and would enable us to keep working inside the adobe workflow, even when screencasting. At the moment we pretty much have to abandon our high end adobe tools and workflow whenever screencasting, only to find out that adobe actually has the product we are looking for. A seperate buy however would probably never be justified. One of the main reasons we have adobe software is the seemless integration of all apps.

This would be a fantastic app to be part of the CC, again like most I feel why pay for a service and not have access to the full suite. I work in education and the possibilities of captivate to help in the learning process is amazing, come on adobe open up all your software to cloud members.

Yeah, in response to not having access I will be cancelling my CC subscription. Totally useless to pay the price and not have access to All Adobe Applications. Throwing money away.

I'm pretty disappointed and to be honest pretty bloody furious captivate isn't part of CC

Adobe have been developing software and supporting people who make a living off there products for decades.

They know more about what software you need then you do. 90% of the time you don't need 90% of the service
but now and then in a pinch you need something to get a job done and with the CC program you shouldn't need to look anywhere else.
who needs camtasia when Adobe has my back right!? I pay for there support! Ive supported Adobe for 10+ years now!
Well right now i need captivate! not indesign or edge code or audition or edge Reflow (whatever the bleep that is)
I'm paying to develop all these  programs and I pay for the top premium package for all the programs.
there isn't a more expensive package i can buy for all your services  but now it seems I can pay for the top package and then if i want to I can
spend that $100 plus dollars more to get the next extra thing I need? What is that? That is boarder line extortion.
Honestly this is peoples livelihoods not the extra sports channel! i have work to do and adobe is supposed to have my back!

I'm shocked!  I was comfortable knowing that I could get anything I wanted with CC. I feel baited and switched.

Please add captivate to the CC subscription. It would be an important part of the workflow on many creative projects. I'm not sure why it was left out?

Please add presenter to the CC subscription too

I too am surprised when I go to download Captivate and it wasn't in my list of apps to install. And I would have to pay another $29.99 a month (More than HALF of the whole CC subscription)? That is ridiculous. It seems very deceptive that on the homepage that it states "Get the entire collection of creative apps" yet you don't get the entire collection of apps!

"Creative apps" - as defined by Adobe - not all apps sold by Adobe.

Full list here (no Captivate):

yeah, because things like teaching and presenting are not creative acts.

it's just silly, really.
