Why is Adobe Captivate not part of Creative Cloud?

It seems it would be a great addition to workflows that require screen capture + publishing. As a creative, I often need to integrate screen capture videos in projects such as trailers, web site or application videos, or simply product presentation. Unless explained, I just don't see why it's not part of the Cloud package...  Now I have to consider buying Camtasia or using crappy freewares...

Referring the community to this link makes sense because that is the only thing you can suggest for us to do.  Knowing the community would have wanted the product included in their subscription in the first place and instead,  making us have to vote does not. To make things easier in the future just know we want all developed apps included in our subscription.  Even if that means some premium tier plan that costs a bit more monthly...  voting is just silly.  Voting still hasn't brought a simple spell checker to Adobe Story. Good thing you guys legitimately happen to be one of the best companies ever or this stuff would really haunt you.

Captivate is convenient  to use for e-Learning projects but it's not the only tool available to us.  As Full Creative Cloud Plan members, we have access to all the products we need to create rich multi-media and e-Learning content providing we have the coding skills and know-how for it.

If Adobe wants to keep Captivate (formerly called e-Learning Suite) as a separate product offering, that's their prerogative.  There may well be contractual / legal reasons for this that we as product users know nothing about.   In short, it's not our decision to make.

Finally, I think this thread from 2012 has run its course.  I am locking it from further posts.  If someone has  compelling reasons for unlocking it, please private message me.

Happy 2018!

In many of the productions I work on, screen capture is used in many of my workflows, it is absolutely ridiculous that I cant do a screen capture using any of the CC suite of tools used for production. It's quite laughable really. Sort it out please.

Hi Adobe complete the circle and include Captivate in Adobe CC I've got 5 users paying AU $249 a month here and I regularly get asked "how to record a screen"

Captivate needs to be part of CC

We purchased "Robodemo" by Macromedia around 10 years ago before it was re-named to Captivate after Adobe swallowed the company up. Upgraded to Captivate shortly after. Was a great tool at the time when we used it.

Need it again now but wont install on our newer machines and would obviously be outdated anyway.

Having this back within the CC suite would be great.

Adobe Captivate needs to be a part of the Creative Cloud Subscription.  It has broader appeal than they think.  I work in an educational institution and have student employees.  There are times that I would like to create tutorials for those students and other store staff members.  Since we pay the subscription price for "all Adobe products" then it seems misleading that Captivate would not be included.  I urge Adobe employees to answer this question, and bring it into the CC fold.

Just bought Adobe CC thinking Captivate was included.

What a disappointment. For all that money per year, we should be getting the full "creative" package...

I have been taking some classes in this program for a couple of days. It is a very good hybred of older Macromedia basics and Adobe inter-application connectivity. I understand that adobe needs to make money and the market for this program is relatively small. However, I also see the reasoning that with an annual subscription to the entire suite due every year, Adobe will be making a very nice profit. Come on Adobe, give us your best and don't hold back.

I can't believe Captivate is not included in the CC, Adobe, you can do better and so can I if I have access to ALL the creative tools I need.

Yes captivate should be part of creative cloud, it's unreasonable for them not to include it.  I use Photoshop, Premiere and Indesign that's it. I would like to have captivate.
