After 11 years my pc has stopped booting.

i was working on a project using the

CS6 production premium for windows.

i plan on purchasing a new computer, however

Some recent models don’t have a CD drive. I still have the original CDs and serial number. My computer crashed and can’t do the disabling of the license. I plan to buy a computer with the following specs.

CPU #AMD A6-9500 processor Upto 3.8GHz

Memory  DDR4 16GB. No CD drive.

is it possible to reinstall on a new computer with new specs?

If you have an ordinary individual account and a legitimate serial number, you can probably use a direct download link.  Note the very important instructions on that page.

However if you have a student/teacher or volume license edition, your serial number won't work with any other media.  You must use your original installation disks.

That said, there is no guarantee that any unsupported Creative Suite product will work on a modern computer with modern operating system.  You use legacy software entirely at your own risk.

Test_Screen_Name is right.  You really need to budget for modern software that's compatible with your modern computer.   It's the only sensible thing to do.

unfortunately it was a student/teacher volume. Thanks for the help. I was reading online that if you had the serial code, adobe can back it up. I wasn't sure about that since in recent models I don't see any Cd drives. Everything became more DLC. I'm surprised how time flew by so quickly. My computer was close to 11 years old and it did seem to shut down hard whenever I turned it off, but the processing had no problem. I'll find the budget to update my work area, but for the time being I have bought a used 2016 model laptop with cs6 installed. I appreciate all the help and advice!

I think it’s ambitious to hope old CS software will run on a new computer. I recommend you include upgrading to a Crestive Cloud subscription in your plans and budget.

PS if anyone sends a private message saying they are from Adobe, IT’s A SCAM!

thank you for the advice, I will consider it in the future. I have resorted to buy a installed cs6 laptop for the time being.

I did get a PM about it, thanks for the info.  I never used adobe community before so I appreciate the help.

When you have a non-functioning computer and can't deactivate a serial number
BE SURE TO ONLY ASK FOR ACTIVATION SUPPORT TO ADJUST YOUR ACTIVATION COUNT

thank you for the help, I have resorted to buy a installed Cs6 laptop for a fair price. I need its software for following few months.

Buy an external DVD drive... I think they are about $10 on Amazon

Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10
-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window
-and/or select Run as Administrator to assign FULL Windows permissions
