Hello, my name is Lucia and Im a graphic designer. Today I received an email from xy@17309390 [Moderator changed the first part of the mail. Please do not post e-mails here in this public place.]

This person tries to buy the rights of my works that I published on Behance. I want to know if this contact is real or is a fraud.

Could you help me please?

This is the e mail:

“My name is Josh Souter and I’m a Creative Director for Adobe. I’d like to license a few images from your Work.

We like to showcase Behance artists on Adobe.com.

I’d like to license 1 image and 1 animation.

Is this something you’d be open to?”

I contacted Behance's customer service directly and they confirmed that the person who wrote me the e-mail is legitimate and works with them!.

I think the problem was the writing of the mail. "Urgent Licensing Request" It looked like a typical mail for identity theft.

It looks like the mail exchange is highly suspicious (Adobe Corporate) but the issue seems to be resolved.

What would you answer and advise for that discussion?

Lucia,

use the one you posted and that I needed to edit out because of the forum rules. XY@adobe.com and replace the XY with the real prefix.

If you enter the mail address manually you cannot be fooled into sending to a different address but showing what you think is correct.

If the e-mail is from the domain "adobe.com" then it's real.

Answer not by reply but by typing the address into the to field, That's what I do normally when I'm having doubts.

You may also beforehand do your google search on his name.

Hi Abambo!

I still believe that the contact is fake. I looked for the person who sent me the e-mail but nothing appears. He says that he's the Creative Director of Adobe, that's strange to me. The way that he contacted me, offering me money... I do not think it's typical of a company like Adobe.

I tried to contact with Adobe with the "abuse" and "phishing" emails but I still do not have answers from them.

I do not know what to do...

Well, there exists a Josh Sauter and he claims to work for Adobe. That's what I said. Send an e-mail to him @adobe.com by typing the address manually. If he answers and says that he is the sender then he works for Adobe. Only Adobe employees have @adobe.com mail addresses.
