Question

Redemption code not working for Lightroom 4

I revently got a new computer and installed Lightroom 4 I bought from Best Buy years ago.  I have two accounts (I remeber and prepopulate at login).  On both accounts the code says it’s already been claimed by another account when I use captialization.  Lowercase it says the redemption service is not available.

Please help.

Thank you for posting, @erinc7381532 and thank you to everyone who has contributed to the discussion. I understand how frustrating it can be to reinstall software you previously purchased, only to find the redemption code no longer works.

I checked the account associated with your Community post and did not find Photoshop Lightroom 4 registered to it. I did find registered copies of Photoshop Elements, including Photoshop Elements 13.

A redemption code is used to obtain an Adobe product or license. You can find more information here:

    https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/apps/licensing-activation/serial-number-redemption-code/redemption-code-overview.html

If the redemption code has already been used, you will need the resulting serial number instead.

For instructions on locating serial numbers from registered products here:

    https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/apps/licensing-activation/serial-number-redemption-code/find-serial-number.html

For your registered non-subscription Adobe software, including Photoshop Elements, please see this Community post for download information:

If you have any additional questions, please update this discussion, @erinc7381532.

A redemption code may only be used once to obtain a serial number.

LR 4 is obsolete software for WinVista/Win7.

Even you could activate it, it’s not compatible with modern hardware & operating systems.

I assume your new computer came with Win11.  See system requirements below.

    https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/desktop/introduction/system-requirements.html

You can try modern LR free for 7 days. Cancel before the trial ends and owe nothing.

    https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/campaign/pricing.html

    Hope that helps.

Lightroom 4 was released back in 2012, reached its end-of-life long time ago, and was never intended to run on the current version of Windows (and, possibly, not the modern hardware). If there are known ways to revive this Lightroom version today, I’m sure others will chime in.
