Trying to figure out how to get InDesign off my CS4 DVD to install on a laptop w/o a disc drive

I'm a long time Creative Suite user and stopped purchasing when everything went to the Cloud. I'm all but retired but still have small projects occassionally. I'm having no issues running all of CS on my Windows 10 computer despite things I've read about it not working. I know how to choose InDesign only for a new install off the DVD. My issue is that my new laptop doesn't have a disc drive. What I thought would make sense was to download the installer on my desktop computer and then upload to my personal cloud drive and install from there. So far I cannot figure out if there's a single file or group of files that would work that way. Is there? If not what do you suggest to accomplish this? Thanks.

    You can install CS4, but you will not be able to activate CS4 because the activation servers have been shut down.

    It will only work for the trial period.

    Hi @Sheila-Seattle,

    Keep using CS4 on your Windows 10 machine for as long as you can.  When that quits working, the CS4 party is over.  

    Affinity Publisher is a low cost alternative to InDesign.

    Thanks Nancy. I actually still use Photoshop and Acrobat Pro as well as InD. I was never much of an Illustrator person.

    Thanks for moving this to the correct place. I'm sad to hear I can't reactivate. I OWN this, it really can no longer be used on any other computer? Even if I deactivated on my desktop? Strange.

    "Although the CS4 activation servers are officially dead, CS4 can still be activated for use on a fresh install on a computer where CS4 has never previously been installed. I successfully activated CS4 myself a couple of months ago just as a proof of concept"
