Questions

What is the safest way to update DW 4 created sites? Just DW 4 or can more recent DW's edit these? I am trying to buy time to recreate in updated software or WP or cloud-based programs. Not sure about 2020 DW.

I haven't used Dreamweaver 5.5 and today I opened it on my new computer.It looks strange but still possible to use. But I think a new version has more functions.Is there any way just to upgrade to a new version with discounted price or do I have to buy a new onet?When I bought them it was called suite and contained Photoshop and so on.I seldom used them.Does it need to be a set? I just need to use Dreamweaver, if I have to buy a new one, which version should I buy?Possible to buy just on internet? 

hi im doing coding for an elective assessment that's due soon and I'm not sure hot to make the h1 title size smaller as my title is too big I also would like to know if I could change the green background to an image is so can someone please tell me how thank you!

Sorry to post. I've been trying to get DW set up for going on 3 hours now and would really like to just get on with it. First problem is that when I open a document it's just kind of floating around, independent of the IDE and toolbars and panels and all of that. Tried setting preferences so that documents open in tabs, but they keep opening as independent windows. Second, I'm trying to get this "Document" toolbar but it won't let me select it. I can select Standard and Custom, but can not select Document at all. I used DW several months ago and don't think I had all these issues. I've tried resetting the workspace which structures all the panels and maximizes the document window size, but I can't seem to get the darn thing docked.Thanks

Hi... A late friend of mine's family wants to put his writings online. The question therefore is which would be the best way...1. A blog site like WordPress or Wix or2. A dedicated site. Naturally some questions flow:1. Yes, they would like to register his domain name (xxxxxx.com)2. If this is registered can Wix or WP be used.3. If the advice is to use Wix or WP, then which one? Some caveats...1. His work is his work. There will be no additions except in terms of gradually populating the site. No recent additions is what i mean.2. Personally, i see no reason for comments. He's gone, so there's no one to answer questions or comments. 3. Site will be put up by friends - such as me - who know a little bit but will probably be generally looked after by his widow.4. Content will mainly be in the form of articles, either already published or never published. Grateful for any thoughts, comments and suggestions. Cheers... 

Recently, in one of my site in Dreamweaver, some folders are opened by default stubbornly. I try to close them, I have to double click twice to close them. Worse stil, when I open a different folder, the folder which I just closed (the stubborn ones)  opens as well.Pls advise

I intalled a trial of Dreamweaver a few days ago and it worked fine. When I tried to restart it, it requested a verification code, which validated OK. But now when I start DW it loops loading random-looking photos with the names of the photographers at bottom left.I have tried uninstalling both DW and Creative Cloud using the Adobe tool, and have reinstalled, but the same thing is still happening. Hello, all, I am tasked with upgrading old versions of jQuery to v3.5.1.  I've had some success, but my next attempt has me a bit baffled, so I'm here to ask for ideas. One sub-section of this project, the developer (no longer here) used something called jquery.reveal.js.  It is attempting to make a call to a .live() function that has been deprecated.  Now, I've read online where .live() can be replaced with .on(), but due to .on() having different arguments, you can't just swap it out without some modification.  Well, none of the developer code contains .live() that I've found (so far); but the jquery.reveal.js file does.  I'm leery about editing the library file - I believe bad things can happen when one goes about tinkering with someone else's baby. So, what do you guys think should be my next step?  Looking at the Reveal site, Reveal hasn't been updated since 2011, so there's no route, there. V/r, ^ _ ^

Hi,I created a website that looks perfect on any computer, but as soon as I view it on a tablet, I lose the bottom view. Here is the link : test.lacbr.tv I tried many things on the net to fix it, without success.  I figure there must be a trick in DW that can fix this?  I lose 5 to 10% of the bottom scree Thanks 

DW keeps unexpectedly quitting when launching the application. On launch I have tried both options, to not reopen windows and to reopen. The result is the same. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling (keeping preferences) and tried to open another file in case the one it's trying to open is corrupted. I am running the most recent version on macOS Mojave. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hello,I have just updated to CC2020 and I'm blown away!So with this I want to make a small change to the site so that visitors can zoom in or make larger some images. I dont want ridiculously high resolution zoom, maybe just 2 or 3x.Is there a way that this can be done?Thanks in advance!

Hello...I'm new and just learning to use Dreamweaver. I'm following a tutorial and believe I may have deleted some files that I should not have.  I'm trying to customize my page, I went to new document, html, bootstrap, create new, and customize. When I change the sreen size and click create I get the error message  "Bootstrap..cannot create a new document as Bootstrap customization failed". When I click on "click here" for troubleshooting, I get 404 error page. Is there a way I can uninstall/reinstall and everything goes back to normal? Thank you Tonya A.

Hi, I'm new to Dreamweaver and think I did something to mess up my settings.  I have 20.2 installed, build 15263 and am on Windows 10. I initially set up my site definition for a folder on my local machine and also pointed to a folder for images.  I was getting on ok, relatively, and was able to open the site (just one index.html page at this point) using the Preview in Browser thing.  Then I fiddled with something in Files, Connect to Remote Server. I don't even know why, but fiddle I did.  Now I cannot get it to open the site in the Preview in Browser, no matter what browser I try and I cannot remove what I entered into the Remote Server window because it doesn't seem to like having an empty list in there, despite it being empty before I fiddled. (If I delete this entry, the Save button doesn't work and I have to press Cancel so of course it doesn't change anything then.) I'd appreciate any advice.  I just want to get back to it looking at the

Hello, I am building a website for the first time in Dreamweaver, I am unfamiliar with the program kinda since I'm a 3D artist and graphic desginer mainly, anyway, the issue i'm having is that the 3rd section of the website, which is responsive, delays too much in following the rest of the page, so a white gap appears at the bottm of the page as you scroll down, then it suddenly catches up again after scrolling some more, it's very annoying. I have attached a video i made just for this post, to make things as clear as possible. The website is from a tutorial, i modified it and removed/added things to make it my own, in order to save time. AS I'm new to this, I tried going into the css designer panel to fix it, managed to fix a lot of things that way, but for this issue I was unable to find a solution. Please help, otherwise i may have to start over from scratch, and the website is looking great. Peace

Hello, all,   I'm trying to update from very old versions of jQuery (like 1.3.x through 1.11.x) and I'm using the latest version, which is v.3.5.1.  I'm getting the error message in the console: r.getClientRects is not a function.  I've been Googling this, and coming up with nothing but "include the migration library".  Well, I've included it, and I'm still getting the error.  Could this be due to old jQuery-UI files?  Or something else?   V/r,   [Moderator moved from Cold Fusion to Dreamweaver at OP's request.]   ^ _ ^

Old brain straining here, so please read with patience. If I go to the Adobe font library site and choose a font, or several in a project, I see that there are various ways (which I don't yet fully understand) to embed them in the files of the site I'm constructing in Dreamweaver. When I do embed one of these fonts or projects using one of the embedding options, will that font or family show up as selectable in Dreamweaver's font manager, like the rest of the Adobe Edge Web Fonts displayed there?Will it, or they, show up on the font list in the CSS properties panel?Or are they only accessible and  manipulable from within the HTML and/or CSS code files? A small part of my confusion results from there being, on the Adobe Font  website, a list of  Adobe applications for which these web fonts are meant to be used, and that list doesn't include Dreamweaver. This, on my part, being a race against the increasing loss of brain cells, would it be simpler for m

I have been using Dreamweaver CC 2015 for many years now as I much prefer the Code View interface to newer versions. It's stopped working now so am using CC 2019. I wonder if anyone knows how I can make the code and it's colours look the same as it did in the defualt options for CC 2015? Obviously I can no longer open 2015 to ee what it looked like but was a lot less confusing. I work moslty on HTML code for emails so am not proficient in all that dreamweaver offers.

I need help.  I can manage the forms - I can't figure out how to get the data posted to the database.  I want to do validation, show errors, and post only when I have clean data.  I have a couple of Dreamweaver manuals, but they don't seem to cover this.  One is old enough to use Spry.

For some reason the drag and resize image code in HTML is not working in Dreamweaver any more and I am lost.   <div style="position: absolute"><img src="images/Headshot.JPG" width="4608" height="3456" alt=""/></div>  I have another site that I just opened up and it was working last month. I had to switch SSDs because of a crash from another problem that I had, but it is on a Samsung 970 Pro now. It just will not work and I have absolutely no idea how else there is to conveniently position an image and resize it. Does anyone know what the problem might be? I cannot even resize anything with the three black squares that normally show up on an image when it is inserted by default.

Does anyone know if there is a Manifest Creator for Dreamweaver? There used to be one for Flash CS5 named imsManifest Creator but I dont have Flash CS5 anymore.

I have been away from web design for awhile, but I need to update an old site which relied expensively on tabs and accordions. God help me, I cannot remember how to edit them and have been unable to find any relevant help. I am using the current version of Dreamweaver. The site works OK when I view through a browser, but I have been unable to add the tabs or accordions. I would be most appreciative for any help you could render! Many thanks in advance.

I have my Website file location on a USB 3.0 128GB Thumb Drive, could this be why Dreamweaver is crashing when trying to add an image to the webpage?   Windows 10 Pro 1909 18363.1016  i7-8700 16GB Ram C drive on m.2 1TB
