I'm at my wits end! In GoLive and early versions of DW, it was so simple to add an anchor, name it and then link to it. I realise that anchors are long gone, I have read the current Adobe tutorial on linking, read through previous forum posts and I still don't get it. The best I've acomplished is creating a link from the index page to the actual photo (the photo comes up by itself, not on its page), I don't want a link to the actual photo, I want a link to where the photo is on the other page. Hi there,I have encountered another issue in developing mobile phone version of a website in DW. The issue is that in 414x896 Iphone XR version everything seems ok. But when I switch to 375x812 Iphone XS sie, then order is ruined, as pics and other elements change their fixed places creating a mess. Please see the screenshots.Suggestions how to fix it are appreciated.Thanks

Help Please.  I am not able to open my (yes old) Dreamweaver CS5.5 (from the CS5.5 suite). I beleive it corrupted with a power hit while I was trying to shut it down during a storm.  I have tried reloading all the CS5.5 files from my external back up... but it still won't open.  PhotoShop, Illustrator etc seem to be working fine.  How can I get this working?  

Can anyone help me with importing our existing website, which is active, that was developed with Microsoft's Expressions (and which is no longer supported by Microsoft) into Dreamweaver? Our webmaster has retired and said that I could take over doing the updates on our website and suggested that we use Dreamweaver.  I have been unable to find any specific information on how to do this type of import.  I have no experience with maintaining a website, but our former webmaster seems to think that I could handle the import and and updating the website.  Our former webmaster did not have any experince working with Dreamweaver.   Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Rod Souza

Windows 10 DW 2017.5 Build 9878Apparently at some point the Window stops writing file information and truncates the last line.The Sync completes but there is no further information in the window.It also truncates the log at the same point.Does anyone have any ideas???

Hi AllI have spend all day trying to figure out why my text inputs changing their order position based on which one is being typed with no luck. The web page is written in React and has only 2 simple inputs for email and password wrapped in form element. I don't know if this is a common issue in safari or not and how to fix it. I just upgraded from CS3 to CC2020 (Win10). I can't stand the charcoal and black as it's too hard to read. What steps do I follow to change it to something like black text on white background, or a color scheme similar to Fireworks CS 3 or CS6 or Acrobat. Also, is there a way to increase the size of the font in the menu, listing of files etc? That might be ok once I can get rid of the charcoal/black, but just in case I still need the larger size, I might as well ask now vs later.

Hello.I am trying to embed a Tableau Dashboard viz into our website and I'm having issues withthe way it displays (mainly showing scrollbars and white space around the vis) even when we'vemodified the code, then publish it, the changes (specifically the "fixed" position go back to "relative" in the live code.Has anyone ran into this problem or have ideas how I might be able to fix it?Thank youDiane

Starting just a short while ago in Dreamweaver CC 2019, the background file activity window has been truncating results at about 350 lines. Deletions, uploads, downloads are all affected. It will show the usual start of the operation, and the lines moving past in the window, but when it gets to roughly 350, one of the lines is truncated and no more lines are produced. The operation appears to complete, as evidenced by the scrolling file names under the site files window, but it's not showing the progress in the actual activity window like it always had before. Aside from killing all my preferences (yet again), after reading that's not fixed it for others that have seen this in the past, is there a way to get that back again?   Windows 7 64bit, Dreamweaver CC 2019 (11193 build)

I'm glad this procedure worked for someone, but it didn't work for me. Same problem, Windows 10 and Dreamweaver CS6. I've downloaded the latest upgrades for Dreamweaver CS6 but no go. This happened after sending the computer to be repaired; had to reload a number of programs. I have reloaded CS6 but no joy. I see the "reset preferences" posts but am afraid to try them. 

I created some html files years ago with DW CC6. When creating a new html file, DW CC6 always placed this code at the top of the file.<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><html xmlns="https://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /><title></title><style type="text/css"> More recent versions of DW only place the following code at the top:<!doctype html><html><head><meta charset="UTF-8"><title></title></head>  Can I assume that I can replace the older code in the older files, which links to an https site, with the more simple code that the more recent versions of DW place at the top of a newly created html file?Thank you for any responses.

I am the graphic designer for a company. I know my way around Photoshop/Illustrator/inDesign... but have had issues when tasked with creating the company's email signature using Dreamweaver (I am not a coder). Because I have no real knowledge of coding, I used an HTML signature template when asked to make our signature. But I sometimes get complaints from coworkers about issues with their signature. This is very stressful, as I really don't know Dreamweaver enough to troubleshoot or recognize issues and understand what's going on. I would greatly appreciate some insight from coders into what's going on and how to fix it. In this case, someone has come to me complaining about black bars in their email signature that appear after exchanging a few emails. I've attached images of what the signature should look like, vs how theirs appears with the black bars (identifying information has been blurred out).  Please let me know if you have any idea why these black bars appe

Does anyone know how to clip a video so that it fits inside a banner at the top of my page. I've tried cropping it to 1280 x 640 in Premiere Pro but I get black borders on top and bottom. I've tried "overflow: hidden", "height = __ vh", "transform: translateY(-50%). That one sort of worked.

Hey up guys... quick question because I know I'll get a good answer here. I normally set up google analytics by using an HTML file that was generated by the console, downloaded and then uploaded to the root level of the domain in question. My question is: does google not provide an HTML file anymore? Hi, I'm encoutering something really troublesome. While I was selecting the font family which was not yet available for CSS in Dreamweaver, I switched to Chrome to see the collection of fonts that I needed to choose then when I came back to Dreamweaver to type them down, and it freezed. I try several times, just switching to another program's windown but the result is still the same, which is very irritating. Do anyone knows how to fix this situation ? Thank you.

In Dreamweaver 8 I was able to write and insert SSIs without trouble. Now I'm using CS6 and... (1) I can't find where the "insert SSI" is located; it's not in the "insert" dropdown menu (which is where online help sites say it is), nor can I find it anywhere else. (2) Although my previously-created SSIs show up in both the "design" and "live" views, they are all absent from my actual website, i.e. they are not showing up. It's important to mention that I just switched hosting companies, so I will be in touch with them about the live version too. I have a small, pretty lowtech personal site, and am not especially adept in web design (perhaps that's obvious!). Any easy-to-understand suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

So why are non-offensive, non critical posts now getting deleted for no apparent reason? Will the person, who is obviously responsible for cocking everything up in the forum, over that last few days please refrain from switching and clicking buttons, like a kid in a sweet shop,  until you are up-to-date with how it all functions and do us all a favour. I seem to have been locked out of the forum, unless I've been misbehaving again, upset someone? Just got whisked off to a page which basically stated 'You're not welcome here anymore' in other words. I didn't have the password to my old email address to reset the password after clearing browser cache so had to create a new email/user/combination. Anyone else experienced this or was it just me?

Just like every other application adobe makes another dont work   I open dream weaver and I see all my pages, the js and css, everything good. I open sites to fix my ftp issue. No clue at all what the name and password is. Open gmail to get name and password.Switch back to dreamweaver and all it is doing is dinging at me becasue the stupid prompt went behind the full screen application and no way possible to get back to the prompt and all dreamweaver is doing is dingning at me. I'm trying to install a Project VII extension for Dreamweaver. Project VII suggested the Anastasiy’s Extension Manager, informing me that it was also Adobe's recommended software for 3rd party extensions. I downloaded that but got this error at launch:Cannot read installed extensions information. Please try and run Extension Manager as Administrator and make sure all installation files are in place.I am logged into the Mac as admin and my existing Dreamweaver extensions are working.OS: Mac 10.14.6 MojaveAll CC apps up to date, Dreamweaver 20.1 I had previously used PVII's extension manager. It gave a very similar error and is now discontinued for Macs. It isn't the new PVII extension, I can't get to the point of installing it.
