Will there ever be something like the old Developer Toolbox extensions again in DW? They were great for custom CMS development. In my personal view I have reasons for not using Wordpress, such as a lack of customization when certain functions need to be used or you have to pay for them. DW has turned into a fancy code editor and nothing else much to justify the expense of using it. Any thoughts or news on this?
Hello, I'm using a new verion of DW (19.2.1),up from an older version a few years back. I'm trying to edit in split version (on code) and there's suddenlya huge amount of animated stuff happening which I find extremelyannoying and distracting. Can someone please tell me how toturn it off? This web-page has an auto-play music file (mp3) on it, whichis now playing in Dreamweaver. It also has a slide-show animationwhich is also playing. (this is all in split-screen). When I try editingthe image file-names in the slideshow, popup balloon with the actualimage appears, right at my cursor. This is maddening when you aretrying to hand-code. I tried in pref's to disable "show dialog when inserting objects".This didn't do a thing. Please help me find my way back to a clutter-free, distraction-freeview of code in split-view, so I can edit without all these annoyingdistractions. Thank you.
Creative Cloud DW has many changes to the CSS panel something I used to use all the time. It doesn't open the CSS dialog when I double click the selector, I don't like how it displayes the properties, it wastes important 'real estate' with 'Sources' and '@Media' and I don't use them... pls pls don't make me hate the decision to have spent money to get this new version of Dreamweaver which has only made things worse... at least let users customize this panel to where it's usable again!

i am using DW cs6. i careated a draw down menue. it works in DW as well as on the server when hopen the new website. but when i use a another computer the menue bar shows as a list.

For some reason, the Dreamweaver2020 program can't even run the simplest HTML file I am trying to compose. It has frozen over and over all day. I try to enter simple text into the small HTML file or the smaller CSS file and suddenly get the dreaded spinning beach ball. Does anyone know what to do with this (aside from walking away in disgust)?
I know you can change the size limits for pasting an MS Office document by editing the file:C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver 20XX\configuration\Commands\InsertOfficeDoc.js. Add a couple of zeros to the MM.od_WarnThreshold and MM.od_MaxThreshold variables, and you're golden. The paste still takes no time at all, because the default limits are ridiculously low. I wouldn't have a problem with this if I didn't have to contact my IT department to make changes to program files. Every time there's an update to Dreamweaver I have to do it all over again... Is there any way to permanently increase the limits? Who can I contact to request this, or at least to add this as an option in the Dreamweaver copy-paste preferences? Thanks,-Aaron
The select parent tag function in dreamweaver is not working for me even if I use shortcut code. I've spent quite a bit of time going through all of the preferences and reading articles on changing colors for coding etc. So 3 hours later, here I am begging for help. Without the ability to see where my Divs open and close, I can't troubleshoot my page. I think this is a tech support issue, but is there no way to contact Adobe tech support? I sure couldn't find one. Their links are circular and just bring you to the same 3 pages over and over.
I am realitvley new to Dreamweaver and I am trying to aligh a script that is a wether widget. The script returns the correct infomration, but I cannot seem to get it to alight in the body. I want to align it to the left side, but I am having no luck. What is the trick to alight the results? Thanks in advance for your help. I am trying to create a name anchor tag. I simply want a hyper-link to connect to another section of my website. This has been incredibly difficult to do! Something that was once so simple even in DW now feels like trying to crack a code.I am just reacquainting myself with Dreamweaver (2020) after working with Muse for a few years. I understand that the "name anchor" tag in DW is long gone. But everything I have read to be able to link to a section of my website has not worked. I'm not even sure if they are called "Name Anchors" anymore.I'm sure I am doing something wrong, but I don't know what. Any help would be very much appreciated!
I am creating a website for school. I am having the hardest time with the navigation bar. I am trying to center all of the links. You can see in each box, they are left aligned. I have tried everything in the CSS designer to move them, but nothing seems to work! Please help! Also, while I'm on the link topic, how do I create a seperate set of styling for other links on my page? When I try to link an image and a title to the image, it uses the same styling format as the navigation bar links. Any help with this would be amazing! Thanks in advance!

Hello folks,I'd like to have one special effect on my website, and I wonder if one of you could help me out with it, I am struggling a bit:I created some hotspots on my page and I want to have a mouse-over sound effect on it, like if you touch it with the cursor, there is a little short sound of a snaredrum or whatever.I thought I could do it with a behavior tag, but there are only visual effects available.Do you know how to do it? Hi, As you can pack all files linked to a document in InDesign or Photoshop for instance, I wonder if you can pack all linked files in reference from the index file in the site? Question is because I have files "spreaded" in various folders and would like to structure and collect them in an easy way, and then I thought if you could pack the files. Best regards,Micke
I am trying to write a paragraph and want to change the line space of it but it keeps putting <p></p> when I push enter to go to the next line. I don't want to do that I just want it to go down 1 line not a new paragraph.
Good evening all, just wondering if someone can help out a bit here! We've got a test contact form set up with ReCaptahca V3 on it, (the Recaptcha logo is drifting outside of the contact form which is a bit annoying but that can be fixed later!), but when the form is filled in the page should redirect to ta thank you page, at the moment it isn't which I'm guessing is to do with the PHP page we were given, which I think is a bit of a mishmash of two solutions? After having a layout of my choice I want a script that automatically updates the web pages with whatever new media changes I have made from the corresponding folders on the server. Say when I delete or add new media files. I would not want to update pages html code myself like what I have been doing. It is so tiresome to code html for change or updates in the existing folders Here is a scenario; After designing my webpages layouts with placeholders in place at the beginning then wish to replace these hundreds of placeholders with the desired actual media in the shortest time possible without talking many days coding each media file name and alt properties [ALL CAPS removed and normal formatting restored by moderator.]
I have to imagine this is a function of this software and I'm just not searching the right thing or understanding something. I'm creating a simple photo gallery and I have 100s of photos to place on one page. Currently I have the line <img class="img-cls1" alt ="altim" src="path/to/media/1.jpg">and I copy and paste endlessly until I get all of the lines, then change 1 to a 2, then to a 3, etc etc. Surely Dreamweaver has a better way to handle this? Or should I be coding this entirely different? Thanks!
I have used DW for years fairly easily. Each new version brings increased difficulty. DW 2008 was user friendly, and I miss it. I recently had to replace my 7-year-old Mac, with Catalina 10.15.1. Dreamweaver 2015 was awful on my new machine, so I "upgraded" to Dreamweaver 2020. Working in HTML is really problematic now. Was needing to delete rows in a table today - impossible. I've tried to insert hyperlinks in html - no go. This is costing my non-profit. Very frustrating. Can someone help me?
When pressing Command - H, Dreamweaver doesn't hide however the Red/Yellow/Green buttons on the Mac turn GREY and the main interface is still available. When we QUIT DreamWeaver and reopen it everything works fine. Anyone else have this issue? CC2019 is the version.
Hello,We are trying to connect Dreamweaver to our web server.It's an https// site.We can successfully connect to it using CyberDuck WebDAV(HTTPS) selection.When we try to use the same credentials in Dreamweaver we get the following error:"An HTTP WebDAV error occurred. Dreamweaver cannot get a listing for thefolder you specified. Make sure you have proper authorization on the server, andthe server is properly configured." Dreamweaver appears to only have a WebDAV(HTTP) selection and not a WebDAV(HTTPS) selection, but we are still allowed to enter in an https address, so I do not know if this is a concern. Does DW not have a WebDAV(HTTPS) option and maybe this is the problem? If so, does anyone know if this option is going to be added? We're in our 14 day trial and can't even get started. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!- JPouliot
Hello, I have been told by Cart32 that uploading directly from Dreamweaver doesn't work for whatever reason. Does anyone have a work around for this issue? As I really don't want to use a 3rd party solution. Thanks,Tom
Hello: I have used Dreamweaver for nearly 20 years and recentely "upgraded" to vedr. 2020. Fore the past five weeks I have been attempting to get simple answers to simple problems and have spent 10+ hours on Adobe Chat and two phone calls and received consistently bad information from individuals with no working knoweldge that have only cost time and made things worse. 1) When I asked about Links, now that "Modify" has been removed from the Menu, not one person directed me to Edit/Link. When I first stumbled on this it worked great for a few hours, but now it is only gray and won't link images or text. How to fix? 2) Same problem with adding or deleting table Rows and Columns -- not a single Adobe person was able to direct me to Edit/Tables. The two Chats that took Remote control of my website both wandered around aimlessly and seemed clueless. Now all I want to do is select a single Column or group of Columns to paste Excel data, but 2020 won't let me do that. How to s
