When I add a word to the personal dictionary, it is not retained. Using "ignore all" retains the word for the remainder of the current spelling check, but then I have to use "ignore all" the next time the word is in a document.Knowing where the personal dictionary is stored might be helpful, but I don't see information about file locations in Preferences. I'm hoping that somebody else has solved this problem and can provide guidance. Thought I was going mad. Has anyone else had there hosting service revert one of their websites to a previous version WITHOUT informing them??Could not work out what was going on because parts on the live site resembled nothing like what was on the locally built site which was the last version updated. Even the 'include' folder on the remote server was missing. Of course I updated a page on the local server and uploaded it but huge parts of the design/content were missing UNTIL I eventually realised there was no include folder on the remote server. On closer inspection I then noticed some of the text was different, css styles different, obviously which had been updated at a later stage. I have zero idea what went on without my knowledge, whether there was a hack or meltdown that the host was too embarressed to inform me of but this is unacceptable, right?Any one else have a similar hosting horror story?

I am reading your new book Dreamweaver For Dummies and saw in your book that you discuss WordPress and CS5. I purchased CS5 to work with WordPress and have yet to successfully get it working with my various WordPress installations. I am not a real developer and would prefer to not create a local test environment but to work with Dreamweaver directly with the installation I have on a hosting account with GoDaddy.It is close to working, but I get an error message about the connection to the database. The FTP access works properly. I can sync the files. Does this have anything with logging into the SQL database? Can you point me to some troubleshooting tips for the initial connection to WordPress and Dreamweaver? Everything I find, read, or watch makes it look so simple and nonproblematic. . . Thanks

I use DW 2014.1. I created a template with an editable region for the text. The text is now being translated to different languages, so on the template, I need to add an editable region on the right with tabs for different languages. Yes, yes, I know that CC2019 is the current version, but my copy of Classroom in a Book is for 2018, so I'm going to hold off until I have the site rebuilt and *then* I'll upgrade. Returning to web building after a few years off, I thought displaying a div with a consistent aspect ratio across all viewport sizes would be a piece of cake. After all, we can animate almost anything now, which was just a dream when I left HTML behind.However, Googling only the past year of results for up-to-date advice yields disappointing results that essentially amount to using equations like "padding-top: 54.309450094%" with accompanying warnings that maintaining the aspect ratio of a div is probably more trouble than it's worth.Is it? Should I just drop this idea and go another direction with the layout?

Hello All,Good evening!Please has anyone had this issue before. If yes, please kindly assist me.  I am trying to filter out ONLY all members that have not registered for the current year. All members in the register table have been registered in the previous years; 2015, 2016 and 2017 and there registration details are stored in the validated table. Now some of them have registered in 2018. The issue here is that after registering a member for the current year which is 2018, I want the system to filter out and list ONLY those that have not been registered for the current year so it will be easy for the registrars to register only those that has not been registered for the current year. When a user accesses a new web page I check if the user has logged in and if not they are redirected to a login page. On successful login they are directed back to the original page. This worked perfectly in version18 and works in the wild. In version 19 Live View shows the login page correctly but after login the original page is not displayed rather the login page is re-displayedFor now I have reverted to version 18 but would like to have access to the new features of version 19.

I do very little programming. A couple of years ago I used CS6 to create a personal website that had a FAQs page of questions with links to answer pages. Each link had a leading named anchor so when the answer page was displayed it showed all the questions but started at the question line. This week I updated the site with two new pages. I created the same line structure as before -   <li><a id="civil"></a><a href="faqs_civil.html#civil">Can Civil Action be Brought Against Me?</a></li>All the original links work properly. The two new links only go to the top of the new page instead of the named anchor on the new page.Also, after the first creation didn't work I deleted the line and started again. DW said the previous "name" was already used and I had to use "name2". Next time I had to use "name3". Where are these coming from if I delete the original line?In my search I read something about a Table of Contents and something else about a List

Since updating to  MacOS Mojave I can no longer save a file in Dreamweaver CS5.5. What to do?

The code at the bottom of this msg will render a radial (circular) gradient extending from red (middle) to blue (edges).But which edges?All modern PC browsers interpret "height:100%" as the height of the viewport only.Meaning, no matter how long the text is, you will always see ALL of the gradient.(And because it's fixed, it won't ever scroll out of view with the text.)So far so good, right? Because that's exactly what I was hoping it would do.The only issue I've encountered is on mobile (iPhone and iPad) where "100%" height apparently refers to the length of the entire page (ie, text), and not just the viewport. So if the page is twice as long as the viewport, you only see the top half of the gradient. Here, the "fixed" property is useless, since the background stretches to fill the height of the entire page + contents. In Dreamweaver CC 2018 (Win7 64 bit), a PHP page could be viewed in live view, though it would not parse any actual PHP in the page other than file includes. Since I was using it mostly to include files (which worked) and simply preview CSS changes, that was no problem. I was never forced to set up a testing server to use it. In CC 2019, suddenly that ability to use live mode demands a testing server, and that server must be running both Apache and mySQL to render pages, even if they have no code in them, and no database whatsoever. Just by virtue of being name .php, it won't allow me to even choose that view (it ignores clicks). If I set up a testing server (local XAMPP), it's a convoluted process of editing the vhosts file, editing the Windows HOSTS file to point to the URL and opening/running XAMPP with both the webserver and mySQL running. Here it is as it's own thread, where I'd hope someone has an answer.I know this has been idle for a while and considered answered, but I'm unable to get this to work properly in DW CC2018. I followed the instructions, but this thread apparently left out the required "notes" file without which it won't work at all (and DW isn't creating). Once I create the assets folder, screen cap and page, then the notes folder and file that wasn't mentioned, I move it into the Builtin folder, in my own folder. Reopen DW, and there it is, only there's no "Section - Template name" like with the default ones, just a blank line where the text should be. Clicking it shows the correct screen cap, and creating based on it brings it all into the site I'm working on...but it has the assets folder as expected, along with pulling all those assets out into the main d

Hello people.I am hoping you can help me.In DW CS6 you could put a spry link/menu bar that had some sub-menu links as you rolled your mouse over it...I now have 2018 release in CCM and it is not there anymore. (or at least I cannot find it....)I want to build a navigation menu with buttons I have created.The button will take you to the specific page.BUT, I do not want buttons for the "sub-menu" links, for example a page that is in effect a child page of a main subject.i.e.I have a button for the "Style" section, but I have a few other pages that are a part of the "style" division, but different.For example, "Style-Fashion show" and "Moments in Time-Moments", "Moments in Time-Museum" etc. etc.Now, I only want ONE button for each of the main sections, but when someone mouses over the button, a "sub-menu" pops up listing the other pages within that division.Where has that spry widget gone to now ?What is the alternative ? Before you tell me to search support, I've already done that and read the articles, tried the answers, and nothing worked.I have the 18th build on an iMac, OS 10.13.6.The web pages show correctly in Safari so the coding is ok. I've tried redoing the links to the style sheet and to the image in Dreamweaver, and it's still not showing them. When I click on the image link in code view, the correct image pops, but it's not showing in live. I changed the image from .gif to .png since that was also listed as a solution. It's totally ignoring the css.I never had this problem in previous versions of Dreamweaver. Help I want to make corrections to the current site and not start all over from scratch, but I'm stumped.

HelloI've posted a couple of times before but perhaps never properly introduced myself. By the way it's not a current pic of me, I'm sadly way older than that, still missing my youth;)I'm trying to learn HTML and CSS but finding it a slow process. I've completed a very basic course and have been plowing through the W3Schools and adobe tutorials and while I'm getting a better understanding of the theory, practise is very much a different matter. I'm currently using the latest version of Dreamweaver. I only wish to attain skills for my own personal use, I have no intention of trying to set myself up in any shape or form as a web designer.I've currently copied and pasted a w3schools template (am I allowed to say that, there weren't any appropriate free adobe ones) into my Dreamweaver application to get some practise and adapted it to suit my needs.I've uploaded it to a remote server and it appears to work fine on Desktop and iPad but is erratic on iPhones, I have an iPhone 6s but I've tri
