When i am in design view in dreamweaver, i right click the placeholder and select source file. but nothing comes up. no windows search box or anything. what do i do to fix this issue?
Claude
So after watching a lot of youtube videos - many of which appear to be out of date (the person will often go to some menu or tab that my latest copy of Dreamweaver simply does not have!) - I am totally lost and wondering how I can do the following:I have a background image, which is of a large TV basically, and I want the buttons to light up when you mouse over them, and click. Simple, I thought! Beginner stuff. So far, I can put my image in the page, as a background, and I can also make the rollover button. The button appears above my background image however, and I can't move or drag it. BRILLIANT. (Sorry, I'm a bit upset that this isn't simpler to do and all the tutorials appear to be outdated)How do I, after making the rollover button - move it to the desired location, over my background? Any help will be really appreciated! I'll be glad to watch any tutorials you know of that can help with this also.
Version: Dreamweaver CC 2017.5OS: Windows 10In previous versions of Dreamweaver you could have the option to prompt for an alt description when inserting a new image. Is this another feature that Adobe has decided to remove or is there a way to get this prompt back?
My office hasn't upgraded to the latest Creative Suite, but I'm trying to get my head around CS5 with the online tutorials. However, there are commands and toolbars mentioned that just aren't available in the version I'm stuck with. Is there a PDF of the CS5 manual hiding anywhere on the web?
I wasn't sure where to note this for Adobe staff/support, but I wanted to mention that after I use Dreamweaver for an extended period of time, let's say for the sake of a time reference after using Dreamweaver for 30 minutes to an hour, the copy/paste function will simply stop working. I can no longer copy/paste code with the shortcut keys, nor highlighting and right clicking.Along with this, the program itself seems to just deteriorate after using it for an extended period of time altogether. I know this is general, but really, it just starts working poorly. One other example is that the live preview will just stop working even though nothing has changed as far as my end (i.e.: file locations, etc.) It just stops working properly.There are a lot of odd end bugs like this I have noticed and I want to start making note of them to the appropriate staff/support, if possible.Restarting the program is the only thing I can find that works, but it is only a temporary fix as these issues repea
I have already WP-site. Is it possible to get Dreamweaver and edit with Dreamweaver?
I am new to Dreamweaver. I just took a job, where I am responsible to maintaining an institute's website. I have absolutely no experience with website design, and I only received a bare bones overview on how to update/edit the website. I apologize in advance if this is a simple fix. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on how to fix the problem?I am using CS5.My issue is that on our website, the template does not load properly. Here is the website: Welcome to the Institute for Mesoamerican Studies . However, in Dreamweaver itself, the template is all there.Here is the code for the template:<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"><!--Design by Free CSS Templateshttp://www.freecsstemplates.orgReleased for free under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 LicenseName : FronzenAgeDescription: A two-column, fixed-width template suitable for business sites and blogs.Ver
Ive looked online for answers to this but couldn't find the answer so I'm asking here...I am using Adobe DreamWeaver CC -- (latest version) (2017.5)Every time i create a new PHP document (or any web document) it opens in split view with live view on top and code on the bottom....I do not like that it does that, and i never use it, and i don't like it as it sometimes prevents me from editing my file....I need a way to permanently disable the Live View feature from my Dreamweaver. I do not like the WYSIWYG features/programs, i find them very inaccurate and less controllable.Having to switch from the split view to the Code view every time I open a document is very annoying...even if removing Live View from Dreamweaver is unable to be done I would like to at least have Dreamweaver open to Code view only on every startup and file creation.Thanks.It'd be nice if there was some file you could edit in the program that i could just change a few lines of code to have it open in Code only view on
Hi Adobe!On this site I have some mp4 movies, but there always is a small space at the bottom of some pixels? I would like it to connect.EVISSI :: Pure Coconut Water Natural, Pineapple & Mango
Hey There,Wondering what would be the better option to build a real estate website, Dreamweaver or Muse CC (or other?)Real Estate websites must use reciprocity - IE: if you go to any agent website, you will not only see their active property listings, but all listings from their brokerage / office and from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS)**Limited HTML coding knowledge, but am learning now**
Big problem here. I'll try to be as clear as possible. I have a parent div <div class="container-fluid div-header-image-full"> with two child divs inside it <div class="container-fluid div-header-image"> <div class="div-form-header">. In order to get the div-form-header positioned above div-header-image, I set it to position:absolute and the parent to position:relative.So this the code that worked perfectly with the browser window full-sized:<div class="container-fluid div-header-image-full"> <div class="container-fluid div-header-image"><img src="images/headerimage.jpg" alt="Placeholder image" class="img-responsive"> <div class="div-form-header"><h3 class="h3-form-header">GET A QUOTE</h3> <form action="<?php echo get_template_directory_uri(); ?>/send.php" id="form1" name="form1" method="post"> <p>
I've been wrestling with this for one year (ever since I had a work-commissioned machine). The pixel size of my Dreamweaver (and all browser stuff) is different from the pixel size of my Photoshop AND Illustrator?!?! So a 500x200px web graphic (png, jpg or gif) made in Photoshop or Illustrator is teeny and then looks stretched and blurry in Dreamweaver and all browsers. I've gotten around it by exporting web images 2x the pixel size and then coding the dimensions smaller in the html. But this of course doesn't work for backgrounds.See, look at 700px in photoshop (screenshot below, image bottom) versus 700px in dreamweaver (screenshot below, image top) -- you can see how that image background is blurry but the text on top is clear:And here's how the dreamweaver html with background looks in browser (super crisp html text, terrible blurry background image):It's the same for both Photoshop and Illustrator. They both have "Smaller pixels" i.e. are a different resolution than Dreamweaver.
Hello my name is Rowin and i made webpages in Photoshop(the design). now i have also made the navigation between the pages and everything. But now i want ot insert a video in some of my webpages. But when i do this with the html 5 video code, it messes up the background image(from photoshop). Does anybody know what to do about this? I would really appreciate it...
After seven years with ServInt, I am researching other VPS providers. Over the past four days, My server has been down about 15 times, for periods of a few minutes to over an hour. My clients have been furious with me, and I have in turn unleashed that fury at ServInt. A serious problem like this should never persist for four days.Although ServInt has promised me that the problem is resolved, this disaster has eroded client trust in me and caused huge headaches for the clients, who use my web application in their daily business transactions. I am strongly considering Amazon Web Services as an alternative. They have a bewildering collection of services, and their pricing is difficult to grasp, but they have an "introductory" product called Lightsail that provides basic packages at less than half what ServInt charges. It also seamlessly ties in with the Amazon CloudFront CDN, which is attractive to me because I have clients in Asia and Europe.(Lightsail package example: 8GB memory, 2 cor
Hi,Is it possible to downgrade dream weaver cc to cs5?Thanks,Dess
Hi,I realised today that I have not started any discussions about the state of web development in a long time, so just to remain controversial here it is.This is not about Dw, but the web in general, and the lack of 'practice what you preach' design and development principles, that is becoming more common on what were once popular web development related sites.If you look at the following 2 sites, (picked at random for examples) then resize your browsers so that the Media-queries are rendered, (moving from desktop to mobile) you will notice that they on the whole completely ignore good practices for readability, images, coding, accessibility, and almost everything else one can think of that they tell everyone they should do, a list apart doesn't even bother to change the header and 'footer' text to make it readable, (only portions of the text are displayed).https://alistapart.com/https://www.sitepoint.com/(Pick your own web dev site at random)Yes, many of the ones I looked at are
What's the magic "open sesame" button I have to push on this web site to get an actual phone number to call Adobe?? I keep getting re-routed to community forums, but the community can't give me a link to revert to DW v. 6. This new version has killed my 3rd party extensions and hence my productivity on an entire web site. HOW DO I GET A HOLD OF ADOBE??
I have an operating site at http://fusion.enwphotos.com which I would now like to update with a new download link. The graphical interface thumbnail image went into place as expected, but the .pdf document (which the surfer downloads upon selecting the thumbnail) did not upload as expected.This is strange to me, b/c in many prior instances, as in <a href="___" title="___"><img src = "___"></a>, I encountered no issues. I simply wrote the code, saved the page with 'auto-put on save' enabled, and all required files were 'put' to the remote server with no problem. The only difference here is that the file is much larger (12 MB). So, in a case like this, can I intervene directly with Dreamweaver, and explicitly upload the file to the desired location on the remote server, and if so, would one of you please point me in that direction.
Created a site using .php in Dreamweaver, on all the pages the header is coded <?php include('header.php');?>it has navigation links<a href="./" title="Home">Home</a></li> <li><a href="bio.php" title="Bio">Bio</a></li>in the body of the page there are tables which have links to videos like this************************************************************ <div class="home_item_small div_common"><img width="275" height="150" border="0" class="home_item_img" title="" alt="" src="images/BaihraineStill.png"><br> <!--<i>Saturday Night Live</i><br />--><b>BALMAIN</b><br /> Directed by Pascal Dangin</div> </a> </div>I
I have to make links to pictures "absolute" links for constant contact.However, if you look down at the bottom of the page to the left, the little page is broken, however, the actual link i have is correct. Thats the link to the folder that every other picture on this email is in, so im confused on why the link is broken for just this specific picture?
Hi. I have a <div class="container-fluid"> and inside it are a responsive image and another div over the image. I have set some CSS rules in order to control the position of this div over the image but unfortunately it's ignoring the rule I set for 767 px screens.<div class="container-fluid div-header-image-full"> <div class="container-fluid div-header-image"><img src="images/headerimage.jpg" alt="Placeholder image" class="img-responsive"> <div class="div-form-header"><h3 class="h3-form-header">GET A QUOTE</h3> <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post"> <p> <input name="textfield" type="text" class="form-textfield-header" id="textfield" placeholder="Name"></p> <p> <input name="textfield" type="text" class="form-text
I know this has already been asked and addressed (https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2306436#9764710), sorta, but I can't seem to get a response in that thread. Furthermore, I've tried several times on several different days to go through the Contact Customer Care page and the only result is ever the community board (there's not even an option to mark Dreamweaver as the product, so I have to select "Creative Suite"). So, I figured I'd try making a new question thread.So, according to the solution in the thread I posted above, the issue has been identified and patched and is even available to some users that can upgrade their programs early. My "Adobe Creative Suite" says my programs are all fully up-to-date. With that in mind, it's not like I'm demanding the patch or update, but it would be nice to know when to expect it to be released to everyone else. As I mentioned when I tried asking in that other thread, a month and a half ago and this past week, I've been unable to locate anything i
when ever I open Dreamweaver, after 10 seconds, it crashes! I don't know what to do.
I need some help resolving the following scenario as it's causing updates to not get uploaded to the live site.1. I open a file in DW and make some changes.2. I save the file which triggers automatic upload of the file.3. Dreamweaver thinks the file on the server has changed since I last uploaded the file and wants me to confirm my desire to upload the file.4. I miss the confirm window and after 30 seconds the transfer times out resulting in the file not getting uploaded.5. I think the file was uploaded and email the person who requested the changes, informing them that the changes are complete.6. I get an email back asking why the person still gets the old version of the page.7. I check and find out that the file with the chages never uploaded.To solve this, I have tried synchronizing the entire site. This results in most of the site being uploaded again from the local copy even though 98% of those files are not new and are in fact the exact same files that are on the server. This wor
