Acrobate professional and the 7.0.7 patch

I have set up the Acrobat Professional 7.0.0 upgrade install VIA the Install Tuner. We have managed to patch the Admin install to 7.0.5. When we try to run the 7.0.7 patch against the Admin install it starts and stops right away like something is wrong with the AcrobatUpd707_all_incr.exe patch file. Can anyone tell me if we are doing something wrong or is there in-fact something wrong with the 707 patch? We were successful in patching to 7.0.5 so we are following the same steps that worked with the 7.0.7 patch without any luck.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion you might be able to offer.

That's what we were afraid of. We have to-do what we have to-do.

No, i don't think there is a VLA for just 12 copies. I think you'll just have to go to each machine and upgrade with the individual serial numbers that come with the upgrade media.

We have been using the same install and just running the activation on each. Just now we tried to activate it again and it is locked. There goes that idea. I think we are going to hang it up and tell our supervisor that they should buy some VLA's Is there anyway to call and have it unlocked?

Thanks for all your help.

How are you handling activation anyway? once you activate 2 machines with the same serial number, the rest will be locked out.

No. If we use the admin install to install the Adobe Pro Upgrade 7.0.0, it works fine. If we patch the admin install to 7.0.5 it works fine, and that is with no Adobe on the box at all. Once we add he 7.0.7 to the admin install the install then needs Adobe Std installed as one would expect. So then we add the Adobe STD to the box then run the 7.0.7 upgrade, the install gets to the very last thing and fails then it looks like it uninstalls everything that it installs and leaves you back at Adobe Std 7.0.7. So what we are trying to do now is to use the admin install to get the Adobe Pro Upgrade installed to 7.0.5 then string the 7.0.7 *.msp file to the end of that install. Oh crud that fails as well.

Well, i tried this scenario, and when I fire up the patched msi file, I get a message that you have to uninstall Standard first. Not sure if this is the same problem you are running in to.

Found this.

The error comes up in this post. At first glance it may have something to do with the activation.

No I am embarrassed to say they bought 12 shrink-wrapped versions and yes they need to activated.

Are you using a volume license version or a version that needs to be activated? I've never tried to push out a true upgrade version (one that looks for a previous install), so I'm not sure what the expected behavior is. I don't know what 2602 is either. You may want to create an install log and see what is failing.

Thanks for the file.

We were able to run the patch against the admin install and it worked thanks. Were kind of bummed now for two reason's. You know we have the Adobe Pro Upgrade install right? Well we can set up an admin install for the Adobe Pro Upgrade 7.0.0 and we can use that to install Adobe Pro without having our lic version of Adobe Std on the box. We can also patch that to 7.0.5 and it also does not need to have Adobe Std on the box. Kind of nice. Then after we up the admin install to 7.0.7 it is asking for Adobe Std to be installed. They must have fixed that in the 7.0.7 patch. No biggy I guess, we will have to live with that. But the second problem is we get an error when the Adobe Pro 7.0.7 tried to upgrade our Adobe Std 7.0.7 install. The error is "Internal Error 2602. File,Update_2.kfp" Do you know anything about the error? I have not had a chance to look into it as of yet.

Thanks for all your help Sir.
