non-profit licenses and Admin login

I applied (for my organization) for the non-profit licenses ($15/yr) and was approved by the vetting org Goodstack. But I have not been designated the "Admin" so I cannot login to the Admin portal to adminster the licenses. ?

Hi @Drew37141542ozno,

We hear you, and the frustration is completely fair. When you are trying to get your team set up and every person has to be tracked and re-validated on their own each year, that is a lot of work to carry, and it is not the smooth experience you were hoping for when you saw the nonprofit pricing.

Here is what is happening under the hood. The Acrobat for Nonprofits plan is an individual license, so each seat sits on its own account rather than being pooled together. That is what creates the per-user tracking you are running into, and we understand why that feels like more friction than it should be for a small team.

The good news is there is a path built for exactly what you want. Nonprofits can get business licenses (including Acrobat) through a reseller in the VIP Marketplace program, at nonprofit (education) pricing on eligible offers. Those seats all live in one Admin Console, so a single admin assigns, reassigns, and renews everyone from one place, no more chasing individual renewals. You can read through how it works here: https://adobe.ly/4AlznuQ

Happy to walk you through that route if it would help.

Thanks,
^AV

The following applies only to the free nonprofit Adobe Express Premium accounts. Adobe’s application process for the free nonprofit Adobe Express Premium accounts is very confusing.

And -- this is crucially important -- Adobe’s documentation for this process is wrong. Every Adobe representative who has posted in this thread (and others) about this convoluted, hinky process has given applicants the incorrect instructions. Every support person I have messaged with did likewise.

Here is the real process (which I’ve posted elsewhere) to apply for free nonprofit Adobe Express Premium accounts:

  • get initial approval for nonprofit via Goodstack, using a nonprofit organization administrator email address, e.g. sample_admin@nonprofit.org
  • after organizational approval, using the SAME ADMINISTRATOR EMAIL ADDRESS (sample_admin@nonprofit.org), request an additional Goodstack approval -- select the organization from Goodstack’s drop-down -- for each additional nonprofit member
  • after Goodstack sends the additional approval to sample_admin@nonprofit.org, FORWARD the email (which contains a login link) to the member
  • using the login link in the Goodstack approval email, the member registers for an Adobe Express account using the member’s email address
  • sample_admin@nonprofit.org repeats this process for each member so the nonprofit org administrator can forward a fresh, separate Goodstack approval to each member
  • do not reuse Goodstack approval emails for multiple members
  • in a year, your nonprofit approval will expire -- go through this dumb process all over again

Same issue as others. The program is basically worthless, and actually malicious since you have to track individual users and have them reapply each year, if not they get charged the full license. Who in their right mind designed this? Not someone who actually wants to give licenses to non-profits.

More negative points for Adobe. Someone needs to come each their lunch already. All the other pdf readers have major drawbacks else we would have switched. If any of them fixed their weaknesses they could eat Adobe in a year. So many people looking to swtich.

The SOLUTION that worked for me

Based on Goodstack verification (for those who have been successfully verified as a non-profit by Goodstack).

  1. Go to adobe.com/nonprofits/acrobat.html

  2. Click Apply now -> Continue

  3. Select your country and find your organization (if it’s not there, it means your organization has not been verified as a non-profit yet).

  4. Enter the First Name, Last Name, and email address of the END USER of the Acrobat Pro license from your organization.

Note: The email must be in the domain provided during the organization's verification in the Goodstack system.

Click Continue. Shortly after, the user should receive an email from "Adobe x Goodstack" titled: You've been approved for Adobe’s program.

  5. Log in to adobe.com using the end-user account mentioned above.

  6. In the confirmation email, click the link: To get started, activate your plan here.

  7. Complete the payment and wait for the purchase confirmation screen.

  8. The purchased license is permanently assigned to the specific Adobe account of your organization's employee.

Hi All, the Adobe for nonprofits program with Goodstack verification is for individual licenses only. Each person in your nonprofit needs to apply for their own license when going through the adobe.com/nonprofits.html flow.

Business licenses for eligible nonprofits can be found in the helpx page here: https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/using/non-profit.html. More on VIP marketplace here: https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/vip/vip-marketplace.html

I'm having the same issue. Any updates from Adobe? I applied on Goodstack and there's no quantity. Should I go through and apply for each of my coworkers that needs the Acrobat license?

I am especially frustrated that when you go to the help links they just send you back to where you started.  Surely there has been enough feedback that Adobe should fix this problem. An installation guide would also be helpful.

Same problem here. It's incredibly annoying. We have access to corporate cards for work expenses, so at least people don't have to pay for it themselves and get reimbursed, but it makes zero sense that we can't have an administrator to manage multiple seats.

Yeah this is pretty dumb... I was all excited to see a $15/year non-profit rate for Acrobat DC for our team. We need 10 licenses... Retail being $2,400 but nonprofit being $150. What a win! ... nope. We have Admin Console access already for 10 other Createive Cloud licenses for other users. Why is this not something that can be added to/managed by that??? Why in the world would they make this "individual signup" only and expect "up to 50 users" to each manage their own subscriptions with a default of it charging full price if they fail to renew with nonprofit validation on time each year? Are you serious? That's a potential $12,000 charge vs the expected $750. I don't think it was intentional, but it was done so poorly it's hard to not see this as a shady "trap" they've created instead of legit care for nonprofits.

On top of that they want up to 50 users to each get re-validated each year for non-profit status??? What the heck are they thinking? Work smarter not harder Adobe.

I don't really think it's a trap. Personally I think that Goodstack
wanted the donation from Adobe but didn't have a clue as to how to
administer the program. What I can't fathom is why they cannot fix the
problem. I'm still hoping to find a contact at Adobe that works with
Goodstack.

I left a one star review on Trustpilot (https://www.trustpilot.com/review/goodstack.org) and someone calling themselves Ashley (Goodstack), support@goodstack.zendesk.com, replied and said they would try to fix it. I got another email Friday (1/31) asking me to resubmit my request to Goodstack and it should ask for the quantity.

I tried. It didn't ask. And I got the same problem.

I have the same issue. I now have one discounted Acrobat pro license, where I would like to have 10-15. Deploying individual licenses that need to be paid for and renewed separately is a nightmare. Is there any indication from adobe or goodstack when or if there might be a change in this program to allow management through the existing adobe teams infrastructure, or some other alternative?
