This thread is available so you can recommend suggestions and corrections to the FAQ.

Please add only FrameMaker FAQ related entries here.

Please post software-related questions to the regular FrameMaker and FrameMaker+SGML forums and topics. Do not post them here. This topic only concerns suggestions and questions for the FAQ.

Thanks!

Sean

Hi Sean (and All),

I still don't get it: is there a compiled list of FAQ and respectives replies, or not?

If yes, where can I find such list?

The link you indicated lead me to my question and your reply...

Being a newbie on FrameMaker, I have several questions which problably have already been asked and answered many times before; therefore, my interest in reading the FAQ before start asking newbies's questions.

So, I'm afraid but my doubt remains unanswered.

Best,
jbr

You just posted a thread in the FAQ area.

Point your browser here: http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.eeae6d4/80.

If you want to put my fonts-related postings into a FAQ, my fonts-related postings include:
* Unavailable Fonts - Frame Console vs. .mif
* Conversion of Frame 7.2 Files -- File > Import Formats Results Not As Expected

Hi folks

There's been a lot of great info lately about dealing with missing fonts and fonts that won't embed. It'd be really good if someone could turn it all into a FAQ entry instead of it vanishing into the ether in a few months.

For example, Arnis Gubins, "The printer called...some fonts are not embedded. Help!" #9, 16 May 2006 1:29 pm

Thomas, I tried going to your above mentioned link

http://w1.133.telia.com/~u13304072/framers/fonts/unavailable.html

but I get a Page Cannot Be Found message. Trying to find hints on troubleshooting missing fonts. Already found the spot that's very similar to the Frame 7.0 manual's writeup.

Thanks,

Alyse

Thanks DK.

At the top of this topic there is the following text:

>This thread is available so you can recommend suggestions and corrections to the FAQ.

>Please add only FrameMaker FAQ related entries here.

>Please post software-related questions to the regular FrameMaker and FrameMaker+SGML forums and topics. Do not post them here. This topic only concerns suggestions and questions for the FAQ.

If you have a regular question, go to the forum and start a new thread. If you feel the question you have is asked a lot, then suggest the topic for the FAQ and please provide the answer if you have it.

Regards,

Sean

Niall, if you were still in the FAQ sub-forum, you shouldn't be able to create topics. But, you should be able to in the main FrameMaker forum at http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?14@@.ee6b312 If you find that you can't start a new topic there, please let us know. Thanks!

Sean,

I am unable to create a new topic. I want to know whether it is possible to create frame maker documents with line numbers. Do you know if this is possible.

Thanks,

Niall.

Yes, if the software is set up properly, it works most of the time. As with most cross-application operations, you should get in the habit of always checking the end result.

You need to fill in FM's Document Properties.

Then on the Print Document screen, with Adobe PDF as the printer, click Properties, then Adobe PDF Settings and make sure Add Document Information is checked.

And that all settings, in both places are saved.

It works for me with fm 7.1 and Acrobat 7 under xpsp2, but I'm sure you'd be able to find some people with the same set up who can't get the info across. Also, you'd have to test with other setups using different versions.
