I need help on finding the exact same color of an object in real life

Question

Hello,I need to find the EXACT SAME colors in Illustrator of football shirts' name & number transfer printings that I have. How do I find/create the same colors in Illustrator of an object in real life?.. I will send the designs to a factory to produce the same shirt transfer printings, so even if I find the same colors and add them to the designs, will the final products' color will be the exact same colors of the shirts' printings that I have?.. (Because for example when I export designs in pdf format, colors look darker etc.)Thank you a lot in advance!

There are ways of finding out what the color is. The problem is you are talking about heat transfer. But, your inquiry falls well within many similar circumstances out there. I know there are color meter divices and I think XRite may have something. It's basicly a piece of hardware that, when placed over a color, can give you color values digitally. Another way is to take a printed Pantone color guide book swatch fan-book and compare different swatches to see which one matches the closest. You would physically align a swatch to the color on the shirt. Another way would be to contact the person who created the shirt's artwork in the first place. But, you probably don't want to do that.
