All of the sudden after placing a jpg or creating some basic text I can no longer grab and move it with my mouse. It will only move with the keyboard arrows. I've done the basic fixes but still doing it.

I'm trying to open a cloud document, it gives me this message. Document contains incompatible objects) This cloud document contains objects that are not compatible with the current Illustrator version. To open this document, use the version with which the document has been created. I've tried re-installing an older version of illustrator, updating it to the newest version, downloading the file directly from cloud (says it can't download it) and copying the file and opening it, nothing works. Yesterday it worked normally and then suddenly it stopped. Just recently CS6 Illustrator stopped printing whenever there is test or type on the page.  I can print the artboard to a file and then print the  file (page) but not directly from an Illustrator artboard.  If I remove all of the type on the artboard by deleting the type or hiding the type the art board will print.  Evidently I changed something but do not know what.  I even re-installed Illustrator and that did not help.  I could use some ideas.  My printer is a HP Office jet 6978 and is up to date.

I am trying to open the Align panel to float in the workspace area.  When I go to Windows>Align and click on 'Align'  instead of the Align panel coming up the 3D & Materials panel opens up instead. Is it a bug? Is it something else?  Thanks for help to solve this one.JR

I'm trying to create a bunch of nested objects within one with negative offset path and then extrude them a certain height based on their opacity, which I already have scripted. Seems like neither has access to scripting.

Hi, I'm using the latest update of Illustrator and when I place any EPS file into an Illustrator document, the resulting vector appears corrupted, it has jagged edges, warped shapes etc. If I open the EPS separately, select the vector, copy then paste into my other Illustrator document, it maintains its integrity. As I work with logos all day long (merchandise printing) this is not a productive workflow workaround. I have tried:- Updating my software (latest version now installed)- Creating my own logo using latest software, same result- Saving old logos created on previous software versions into new EPS files using current software- Saving as alternative file types, including Ai, PDF and SVG. I work with mostly EPS hence my original question, but it is also corrupting the other file types if they are Placed rather than pasted in.It was always my understanding that Place was best practice, and it seems to no longer be working. Hello, I need to automate Illustrator color separation (inkList) when printing to a file. But the scripting API doesn’t work (printColorSeparationOptions.inkList; InkPrintStatus.DISABLEINK) and just silently ignores the ink inclusion / exclusion settings. I wonder could anyone tell me is there an equivalent API via C++ SDK? Any regarding information would be appreciated.

Hello,I am opening up a .SVG in Adobe Illustrator CC 2019 and I want to create custom classes for paths. Every time I saved the save with some styling Adobe Illustrator creates class names is there a way to edit the names in Adobe Illustrator CC 2019?Hopefully this makes sense.Thank you

how can i cut this little red strip in yellow circle as it is messing with my tracing

Hello everyone.It's been awhile. I need to recreate the yellow hash marks on this tach. Note, the hash marks equal 77 and stay the same throughout, what changes is the space between the hash marks (which are the yellow lines) I'm using a .50 stroke weight.  I have no idea how to get the spaces between the hash to increase in size without increasing the area or any of the hash marks.  I've looked quite a lot on youtube for an answer and I'm not able to find one, although I came close.I've included a jpeg.  The hash need to fit inside the arched rectangle.  I hope that I've explained this problem well enough.Thank you. 

Dear Community,I’m encountering a critical issue with Adobe Illustrator on my Apple M3 Pro running macOS Sequoia (36GB memory). For the past two days, even basic actions like selecting objects have been extremely slow and laggy, regardless of file size.I’m running the latest Illustrator version (29.1) and have not installed any window management apps like Magnet.I would greatly appreciate any advice or solutions you can provide to resolve this issue.Thank you very much for your help!Best wishes,Jaz 

My fonts no longer work since Illustrator was updated to version 2024 and the same with version 2025 .   Worked just fine with the previous version.   Nothing has changed with my fonts and files I use to be able to open without missing fonts now has the fonts missing and I have tried reloading them to font book and still can not get them to recognise them.  Any help would be appreciated as I have an older file I need to update and when the new ones were installed my old version went away so I cant go back,.  thanks so muchDarren

Hello. I am looking for help with how to change the colour of a pattern brush which seems to be made up of images. I have used all of the colourization tools but none seem to allow me to change the colour from green and gone through every tutorial I can find but the colour doesnt want to change. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

Hi everyone!I’m working on this project in Adobe Illustrator, and I’m running into two issues: Connecting Paths: I need to connect the two top paths so I can apply the same fill to the entire shape. However, I’m unsure how to join them or blend them into one cohesive path.Brush Overlap: I used the Pen Tool to add some elastic lines and then applied a brush stroke to them. However, the elastic lines are overlapping the trousers, and I’d like them to stay within the waistband area without spilling over. Any tips on how I can tackle these issues? Hi I'm using Adobe Illustrator 2022, OS12.1 I know I can add URL links within Adobe, using Attributes, but does anyone know if I can do the same with an email link.If I had the option to click on an image or text to then take me to an already opened email message to a certain person. Would be great to have several individual client email links on my artwork/document, so I don't need to keep opening email app and selecting name etc. 1 button or text could do it for me.This is hopefully do-able in illustrator alone, don't want to use Acrobat or InDesign for this. Hopefully someone somewhere has an answer.Cheers Stu

I am requesting the restoration of the functionality in Adobe Illustrator that allows importing DXF files while maintaining their original groupings.Currently, when importing a DXF file, Illustrator automatically ungroups all elements, including patterns and mold structures. Even when selecting the option to group everything and later attempting to ungroup selectively, the original groupings are lost.In Adobe Illustrator 2021, this issue did not exist.After contacting Adobe's technical support team, I was informed that starting from Illustrator 2022, this functionality was removed. I was also advised to submit a request through the community for its return.Thus, I am formally requesting that this crucial functionality be reinstated. Our company heavily relies on DXF files, and manually regrouping all ungrouped components is not a viable solution. It significantly disrupts our workflow and causes unnecessary delays.I trust that Adobe prioritizes a smooth and efficient user experience. B

I added this font named Playwrite CC Portugal to Adobe Suite, and it keeps displaying like this in every programs including Illustrator and InDesign:  This is how the text appeared when I added it from the Adobe Fonts website:  It seems like all the other cursive fonts on my laptop is having a same problem. How do I solve this?

So i've got a stationary PC last November, a high-end gaming pc, hoping it would optimize my workflow with heavy duty projects. Now, when i start InDesign or Illustrator, my RAM (32GB) gets used up to a 70% usage, resulting in a slideshow. Putting the programs into efficiency mode sometimes helps, not always though. On my MacBook everything works just fine, so i assume, that the problem must be Windows related. I reinstalled the programs alsready, even reinstalled the OS, without any positive result. Need urgent help please.

This problem has been present for the last 2 weeks. The photos I put in my designs disappear automatically even if I zoom in. I constantly have to relink. But this problem prevents me from printing anymore. 

Used to be able to double click an object to create artboard that fits it But I can't do this in the last version of illustrator  double clicking with the artboard tool does nothing   How do I enable it or fix it?

I was working on a file all day long. Auto save was set for every 2 minutes as always. At some poin I started closing preview tabs I was no longer working on, I had quite a number of them oppened, and to my surpise the tab I was working on was no longer oppened. Lets say I closed it by mistake, I have worked in Illustrator for years now and if that were to happened all I had to do is go back to the folder and re-open the file and continue working. Now, here is the question, I went back to the folder, re-opened the file and to my surprise again all the work I have done during the day was reset to the previous day. Can somebody help me to recover this file?  

Hey, When i started working in illustrator today, the type tool doesn't work anymore.I can select but after i try to type anything. Illustrator doesn't respond anymore the only thing that changes is the layer name. But the text won't appear on the screen. I already reinstalled illustrator. Does anybody know a fix?

I have recently downloaded the illustrator app for iPad and have been using it for the last few days without any issues. Today I try and use it and I can only select tools and options but can't use them. Neither the Apple Pencil or finger is working, other apps they work fine. I have updated iOS and reinstalled the Ai app and it has made no difference.
