Illustrator version 27.4.1

I am new in illustrator. Following correctly the tutorials, nevertheless tracing does not work.

How much RAM is installed?

RAM should not be an issue, unless the image is very large. Can you please show that image and tell us about it: how large is it? WHich color mode? Which file format?

 

Also: when was the last time you rebooted that computer?
