Unable to save changes in Illustrator

I would like to know if anyone is experiencing or has experienced a similar issue with Illustrator. For some reason, when I open any file in Illustrator and subsequently try to save it, the pop-up windows appear for a few seconds, but do not stay open for me to confirm the action. They disappear within seconds. What kind of bug is this?

It even reaches the point where I can't even close the program. I have to force it to shut down using the Windows Task Manager.
