I need to be able to draw a *line* (open-ended path), however when using the Pencil Tool, the endpoints almost always automatically join—especially at smaller sizes. For example, I can't draw a 'c' because it auto closes into an 'o.'I can't find a work-around, and without one I can't use the app in my workflow! Help?! Thank you!
Hey, I just had a Samsung tablet (Galaxy tab s7) and we know that its technical specifications are similar to those of the ipad ... I would like to know if in the future there will be a possibility of a version of "Illustrator on the Ipad" for Android? , I really need it, and that "Illustrator Draw" app is not enough for my work, because it does not have all the necessary tools.-Thanks

I am struggling with an AI ipad problem which I don't know is a bug or a limitation in my hardware. I posted a question here last week which I maybe gave a rather clumsy title "Program sluggish on 1.gen .12.9" Ipad pro 256gb.". I marked it with the tag "bug" since I didn't find any other more suitable.so where is the appropriate place to ask this kind of question to Adobe for a program you pay to use eb]very month? If you also know the answers to the questins below - you'll really make my day! A few people have had a look at the original post, but I'm the only one to answer myself there - or rather ask new questions. To spare you the search for it, I paste in the text here, explaining the problem:"the more vector objects/anchor points I have in an illustration, the slower the program seems to work.bery often I have to close the image and reopen it to get it correctly drawn. I have no exacr numbers but assume the problem starts with 100-200 objects/points. Maybe more. I n
Hello, I updated my illustrator on ipad ... with this new version, I can no longer put the thickness of the outlines below 1 pt ... Does someone can help me ? Thanks
the more vector objects/anchor points I have in an illustration, the slower the program seems to work.bery often I have to close the image and reopen it to get it correctly drawn. I have no exacr numbers but assume the problem starts with 100-200 objects/points. Maybe more. I noticed the problem more than ever before when I was drawing a big bird and started drawing individual feathers - and even more when I mirror the half bird I actually draw. This applies to the graphics, but also to the list of object or group of objects on the right side.I notice when deleted objects remain in the list and I'm unable to select or remove them there. Can someone please explain to me what the problem is and how to avoid it. I am aware I don't have the fastest ipad available.BUT my iPad is listed as powerful enough to run the program and it has max. storage space. I have never been able to figure out about iPad RAM - the memory needed by the processor. Does it use the storage space
¿Es posible modificar la punta de un trazo (para que sea punta fina) como en AI de PC?
Hello! I've seen the Illustrator for iPad has a feature of autotrace sketches and adjusting them to the grid, the thing is I can't find it. (I'm attaching a gif of someone using it)I tried taking a photo and importing a sketch and the portraited feature does not appear on my options. How can I activate/use it? Thank you very much in advance!
The text is outlined. I have tried grouping and ungrouping the individual letters, but the gradient is applying to each individual letter instead of a single gradient across the entire object. On desktop, I usually remedy this by using the gradient tool and spreading it across the selected object. But there's no gradient tool for iPad, just a swatch thingy. 🤷🏻♀️
When I tap on the pathfinder, takes few seconds to pop up, when I tap on one of the options it takes it time or closes.. Has this happen before to anyone ?
Hi I get a warning when I am using Pantone colours and a gradient/soft background element, that I may have colour changes when it's finally printed. How can I sort this? Thanks in advance 🙂
Hallo, ich nutze seit kurzem die iPad-App-Version von Ai und komme irgendwie gar nicht zurecht.möchte z.B. etwas drucken und finde nix. Sorry, bin kein Profi-Anwender ;-))
Is it possible to disable the automatic linking of anchor points with the pencil tool? I use this to sketch but it is not the intention when I hatch that the lines are connected
How can I add a graphic from Illustrator for iPad to one of my CC Libraries? I see how to import an existing graphic from a library, but not how to export one. Creating vectors in this app is delightful, but without the ability to transport individual graphics between iPad apps, illustrator on iPad feels a bit useless.
I was drawing for about a whole day and a half then when i came back to check on everything i found all my work is gone completely. I really worked hard to get this done and i dont wanna start again, can anyone please help me get it back? Oh and by the way i did save my work before i left it but when i came back to check on it it was gone!!!!!!!! Please help
Hi all—hoping someone can help me with a frustrating issue I'm having here!I've been drawing some larger scale, very colorful graphics, and because of the easy color fill feature that Procreate offers, I've been doing my coloring there, exporting it to my desktop, vectoring/expanding those color blobs, then using Ai on the iPad to clean up any loose/unclean edges. This has worked well for me to this point, however, recently, my colors don't seem to match up. SOME will be spot on—others, horribly off; and I have no idea why. Same color libraries, same mode (CMYK), but some colors will simply not match up when I eyedrop them/use them on my iPad. The weird thing is, the SWATCH after I same on my iPad will look correct, but when I draw—wrong. I've tried testing it to see if it's just my iPad's display, and checking it again back on my desktop to see, but nope—still wrong.Any idea why this is happening? For the type of work I'm doing, the iPad saves me a massive amount of time so I'm ho
Last few days this app was early slow, I couldn't move objects, couldn't export JPEG (it's continued to export blank file for a long, after 10th attempt the image was successfully exported). Today it can't open the file & crashes immediately as soon as I touch preview of my work. I'm so disappointed, my work has stopped for a day at least. I can not see any use in this laggy app anymore.
Hi everyone, I've just started using Illustrator for IPad and been experimenting with the mirror repeat function. However, every time I create an object, select mirror repeat and then drags the reflected objects so that they overlap, a line of pixels always remains where the two objects overlap. This line of pixel remains even when exporting images, an example of which I've attached to demonstrate the issue. I've looked online I can't find any record of this issue mentioned elsewhere, however when watching the YouTube tutorial accessible through the link below, I notice that the same line of pixels on the location when the two options overlap is also clearly present, so this issue is not my iPad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ljSZTAsYac Is this a bug/does anyone know how to get rid of this line of pixels? As it remains on export, it severely limits the utility of this otherwise amazing function. I hope this is clear, any help greatly reciev
I'm new to Illustrator on the iPad, so I was watching some YouTube tutorials to get acclimated. It seems in previous versions of the app (or maybe it was just in Draw?), there was a pressure sensitivity setting for the blob brush. It seems to have been replaced by taper settings? Would love to draw lines with variable widths using my Apple pencil on iPad. Is this possible with latest version of Illustrator? Thanks.
In AI on iPad, the pencil has always "Keep selected" on, and cannot be turned off. With that, the pencil cannot be used for writing, since e.g. crossing a t is taken as a correction to the (live) stem of t, and gives a mess. Even in the regular AI, the pencil "Keep selected" should be off by default, since the pencil is used much more for drawing new things than for corrections. It should be possible to turn the pencil "Keep selected" off in AI on the iPad, so as to make the pencil usable.Especially since iPads have very nice pencils... That would be the single most important change to AI on iPad, and everyone seems to ask for it.
The Illustrator app will not sign in and it just gives me the spinning wheel. I've checked the internet connection, re-downloaded the app, signed out of creative cloud and re-signed in. All of the other apps work, just not illustrator. Please help.
Until this new update, I was really enjoying creating stuff on my iPad. As someone with a severe physical disability, I felt good that the pencil tool was a lot "tighter" and did great for me when I drew things but now it feels so much more free flow since this update. It doesn't arch the same way or be straight as it was. Maybe it's been slackened off too much; I need that wee bit more tightness and control that it had before. I don't know what it's even called or what's changed but for me, it feels completely different than before. I don't know how to fix it. If someone can help and let me know how to fix this, I would be grateful 😇 I'm on iOS 14.6 and illustrator iPad version 1.3
I have a font that I am trying to install on my iPad Illustrator. The font is a .ttf and should be fine to install. For some reason, the software goes through the process of installing the font, and even shows me that it was successfully installed, but i cannot find the font in the Illustrator Drop-Down menu. I have also installed the font on the Creative Cloud (Desktop Version) and this works fine as I am able to use the font across all of the Adobe Desktop Apps. I just cannot seem to get the font to recognize on teh iPad apps. Please help.
Photoshop has features that Illustrator doesn't. On the Ipad air is there a way to open Photoshop files in illustrator?
No idea why this is happening, is it a bug? Is it me?? It hasn't happened with previous file exports. There is a colour glitch/change to part of my artwork when I save my file as a JPEG on my iPad pro. Please see screenshots of the problem. a) As the artwork appears as I created it on the Illustrator iPad app b) Colour glitch when my artwork is exported to a file as a JPEG on my iPad. I have tried to re-save it umpteen times to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and is there a way to solve it please?
