Datamerge – cant merge the posts

What am I doing wrong? When I try to merge the document, I get the error message: "Unable to create merged document because there are no placeholders. Add items from the data merge panel to the document pages and try again.” But I have done that (see attached screenshots). The text block is on a right master page and I have "Override all master page objects".

The source file is a txt file. Please HELP, it's urgent - I need to submit for printing and there are hundreds of posts…

You cannot add Data Merge on a Master page (Du kan inte datasammanfoga på en mallsida)

Select a "tagg" from "<<" to ">>" (hope you did not type those because taht would also explain your problem) then click the tag in the Data Merge panel (Datasammanfogningpanelen)

He said they overrode the master page. And I'm pretty sure I've done it on a master page before.

If they were true taggs then teh DataMerge panel would say which page the tags have been used on, the panel (and therefore data) is not connected to the tags, or is that an "E" in the far right of the pannel implying the data merge is on page E? Parent/Master Pages are for non repeated elements such as headers and/or footers.

I'm enclosing screenshots both from the xlsx-file and the txt-file generated from it in this post. Any conclusions?

My best guess looking at the screen grabs is you have a line break in one of your fields (though I don't see it on a quick glance).

Did you type them?

If you did - delete the text.

Insert the text cursor

Then double click the data merge item in the panel to submit it

Sorry if this is sounding basic, but could be it.

Sorry, I don't understand exactly what you mean with ”Did you typed them”? I made the text block the text that is supposed to be there and then inserted the placeholders when I had inserted the txt-file. Is it something there that I missed?
