Fonts viewing problems

I have already talked about this problem in a prewiew post.

Now, I bought an iMac (2021) and in addition to the built-in monitor I connected a second monitor, a regular 1920 x 1080, Full HD, HDMI/D-Sub. On the iMac monitor the display is perfect while on the second monitor the problem of poor quality continues (the problem is mainly with the display of fonts).

This rules out software problems and says the monitor (or connection cable) is the problem. Is it possible that all non-Apple monitors give these problems? Thanks

The screenshots you show are from which app? Just to make sure we are talking about InDesign here. It is hard to compare those two because they are not the same resolution and hence it is hard to comment on the rendering quality. What do you mean wirh display fonts?

Si, sono due schermate prese da Indesign. Pensi sia solo questione di risoluzione? Pensavo che 1920 x 1080, Full HD potesse essere ottimale e standard per tutte le applicazioni. Scusa ma il mio inglese non è buono.

You should always use the optimal resolution for your respective screen. So the external screen should be used with its native resolution. Depending on your macOS have a look at the screen tab in the preferences an use the (Default/Standard) setting for the iMac.

This one is from my MacBook Pro 16 inch
