InDesign alignment issue in the latest update.

Hello, after InDesign's latest update, I can't use shortcuts like alignment and object docking without selecting and grouping objects. What is causing this and how can I fix it? It's very difficult to work without shortcuts. I checked the preferences section and everything seems normal.

Hi @Fthy_864, have you tried updating InDesign to 21.4.1 to check if you continue to experience the same behavior?

Hi @Fthy_864 ,

I can confirm the issue with InDesign 2026 v21.4.0.74. Did a KBSC (keyboard shortcut) to align selected objects to the left, but the KBSC did nothing.

Also tested with InDesign 2025 where it works as expected.
