InDesign and "let printer manage colors"

Hi, 

I've noticed in InDesign that the printer settings offering colour management options (i.e. File/Print/Colour Management) does not have a pulldown allowing me to select "let InDesign manage colors" or "let printer manage colors". Instead it's a pulldown with one option, "let InDesign manager colors" which is not useful without a color profile. I don't want to create a color profile for my cheap printer but I would like output that's not awful (like I get from Lightroom when I select "Managed by Printer"). This appears to be the same in InDesign 2022 and InDesign 2023. 

What setting am I missing?
